I want to buy some Tubi-Grip to help me get my abs back together. (It's that stretchy support bandage type fabric)

I know the physio will sell it to me but I've been told that some chemists sell it too.

Anyone bought it in melbourne?

I was given tubigrip by the hospital but didn't find it very supportive at all. I ended up getting some support underwear from Myer that was thicker with less stretch.

Perhaps try ringing a few chemists and seeing if they stock it?

As someone that does sell tubigrip (I work in a private practice as a therapist), I go with OCM that tubigrip won't do much at all for your abs.

You are better to start doing tummy tucks and look into a proper ab support.

Check your separation of your abs and go from there. Tubigrip will offer little (if any support), and even if you find a support, it won't help your abs improve, it will just dummy up what excercise is the only answer for.

The importance of abs is to help support your lower back (as well as to look good with a flat tummy). The reason for a support will help your lower back while you work on your abs.

pm me for more details if you wish about abs, support and exercise.

:iagree: I was given a pair of Triumph support undies from the physio in hospital to address a 6cm separation. Now, almost 4 weeks after DD was born, the separation is less than 3cm. I loved the undies so much, I bought myself an extra pair from Myer. Not only are they great support, but it makes my belly look almost flatter than pre-pregnancy!!:smiliedance:

Oh I thought the point of the tubi-grip was to give support and actually help to hold the muscles closer together to aid in them knitting back together (with exercise). I thought it was just a bonus that it made your tummy flatter!

I do have a pair of those control type undies that I wore yesterday. I found the support really helped my back and I felt more stable just getting around iykwim. If the undies are more supportive than tubi-grip maybe I'll just buy more of those then...

Pegasus thanks...I'll PM you!

Yep - the undies are better than tubigrip - as they are usually made of lycra which holds it's elasticity much better than tubigrip. So helps you to get around better - gives more support for your back and assists in your abs being used in a more correct manner and not "bowing outwards" when you lift etc.

Mamajess - I've pm'd you with a start on ex's;)
