Okay I am pretty clueless when it comes to cooking meat and today I bought a chicken schnitzel from the deli for DS and DH for dinner.
Now I have no idea how I am meant to cook it. It is one of those ones with crumbs all over it!
Please help:confused:
I just fry them in a pan with a bit of oil. Mmmm. You're making me hungry! :chef:

Put a frying pan on medium heat, add oil and put the schnitzels. Turn when one side is golden brown. Brown the other side and serve immediately.
Enjoy.

Thanks for that!:D
I think they are nice with lemon juice squeezed on top. I also like to smother schnitzel with gravy. yummmm:chef:

Ooh we have lemon juice!
So you cook till golden on the outside, approx how long is that?

Well it depends on the heat. If it's a chicken schnitzel then it cooks quickly and it will take 2-4 min on each side on medium heat. See as you go. It's really simple, don't stress to much. Just don't have high heat; if you do the schnitzel will be raw inside and all the crumbs will burn.

Thanks, let's see how I go! lol:chef:
If you want to go really gourmet (not really - just sounds better if I say it that way) my mum always uses a combination of half butter and half oil for her schnitzel (which is always perfect) - the flavour is better than just oil. You don't want to be too stingy with the oil as otherwise your crumbs stick to the pan and seperate from the meat. As well as lemon juice schnitzel with a pureed apple sauce is also very good!

Oooh very gourmet lol, will definately try the half butter and oil though, don't have much oil anyway, but do have alot of butter!
Hmmm I wonder if DH will know the difference between a can of pureed apples for baby's or a jar of apple sauce!
