By now im sure everyone has heard about the plastic bag phase out that comes into effect soon...
I think we should all aim to build better habits. I work in retail fashion and unfortunately i have not really noticed any huge changes within our store in regards to the whole "byo" message. I am equally miffed when a customer asks for separate bags :hair:
Although the bags we produce are bio-degradable and will continued to be provided, what can really be better than a reusable version?
I would encourage people to invest in some roll-style bags (such as the envirosax) to keep on them at all time. Whether coles, myer or takeaway food... lets BYO!
So who is with me?? Lets make this the mainstream norm!!
:shakehands:

There is certainly an attitude that needs to be overcome. I bought some pj's for DD the other day and said no to a bag. The woman at the counter actually asked me how I was going to carry them. Err, well I thought i might carry them with these wonderfully useful things called hands.
Haha! I've been asked that stupid "how will you get this home/how will you carry it?" question so often! And most of the time I have a stroller with me with a lovely compartment down the bottom and a huge handbag with pleanty of room!
I have too many reusable bags because I can't resist some of the cute designs and patterns on them! :o DP and I once moved house with nothing but enviro bags and banana boxes from his work! (it was only a few suburbs over mind you!)

This issue really sh!ts me!
You go to Woolies or similar, where they have signs saying "Say no to plastic bags". Fair enough.
I always use green bags and the checkout operators always fill them to bursting. That doesn't really worry me, because it means less trips between the car and the house.:)
However, once I forgot my green baggs and had to use the dreaded plastic. The lady used 10 plastic bags, when I would usually have only 4 green bags' worth. Since then, I've noticed that when using plastic, they sometimes put only 2 or 3 things in some bags. I don't get it. The staff need to be better trained to follow throught with their "say no to plastic" policy.
When I go to smaller shops, I always put my Envirosax on the counter before I put down my purchases. I point to it and say, "That's my bag". They smile and then proceed to put my purchases into a plastic bag. WTF???:banghead:
I've had to start keeping them in my handbag because I ALWAYS forgot.. and I have about 30 reusable bags because I had to keep buying them
