MJ was not a long feeder when she was a bub, never bf for more than 15mins, & only ever off one side. Now at 13months feeds off a side in less than 5mins.

Hi,
I'd say that if Jacinta is happy and settled then she is getting enough.
Just to be sure you could always contact the Australian Breastfeeding Association.
Godd luck with it all!!!

like the others have said if she seems happy and content, there probably isn't a problem. how many wet nappies does she have??? about 5-6 wet nappies is a good indicator.

if it was me i would call the ABA (here are the numbers)
ACT/Southern New South Wales (02) 6258 8928
New South Wales (02) 8853 4999
Queensland (07) 3844 8977 or (07) 3844 8166
Townsville (07) 4723 5566
Cairns (07) 4058 0007
Toowoomba (07) 4639 2401
South Australia and NT (08) 8411 0050
Northern Territory counsellor contact line (08) 8411 0301
Tasmania (03) 6223 2609
Tasmania - North (03) 6331 2799
Victoria (03) 9885 0653
Western Australia (08) 9340 1200

it is always worth a chat to someone professional about these things, then they can give you the correct advice. (btw they are free)

also, expressing milk wont give you a true indication of how much milk you have, i know women who feed wonderfully but cant express a drop.

If you are desperate to know how much milk bub is getting though weigh bub before a feed then go feed bub then weigh again after the feed!;)

I am sure bub is getting enough milk though if she is happy!
