I am having my FIRST baby shower for my 3rd child.
All my children have been extremely prem and so I haven't been able to have a baby shower.
My 2nd child is still in hospital and will be 10 months old when his new sister arrives.
I have had to buy a new twin pram to accomadate them both, the only thing I need for the babies now is the accesories to go with the pram.
I do not need anymore toys or clothes !
I know people think this is impersonal but we were clear when our son was born not to buy anything for him (he was not expected to make it) until he came home.
ANYWAY
I am doing the invites and would like to place a small envelope inside to do a "money tree "
Any ideas what to write on it???

In all honestly, :o I strongly dislike money trees and wishing well in any event, I find them extremely impersonal.
Perhaps if you can’t currently afford to buy a prams extra yourself but very much want them you could make the suggestion to your family, close friends or the person organising your baby shower and they could organise to put in together and get them for you? That way they are actually bringing something tangible to your baby shower as oppose to just money. It also nice at baby shower to ooo and ahh over cute baby things… may be strange not to have anything to open?
Oh and maybe if you must have a money tree suggest a few other items as well for those that don’t feel comfortable giving cash such as parenting magazine subscription or photos session for bubs or foot/hand casting etc

I had a friend do a variation on this but just ask for gift vouchers for Coles/Myer instead. I didn't actually go to the baby shower (I had just lost a bub and couldn't cope with it)...but I didn't find it rude at all. A lot of people would probably be relieved that they don't have to shop for something if they aren't into baby things.

I helped my sister set up a baby shower website at WhatWeWishFor.com. It was mainly set up to provide details about the baby shower and collect RSVPs but we added a gift registry in case anyone was stuck for a gift. I think this is a subtle way to ask for contributions to gifts rather than just saying give me cash.
I also posted her baby pics after the birth on it so it was an easy reference point for friends and family.
Hope this helps!
Awe this is cute... Dont know if I like the 'rhyme' though lol. Good idea, so instead of asking for money for mummy and daddy, your asking it for the baby. Might sound a little less rude (not that I personally think it is because I have already stated I want money not pressents haha)
