View Full Version : Self Sterilising bottles
Just wondering if anyone has purchased/tried the Pur self sterilising baby bottles? They seem too good to be true being that they apparently self-sterilise in the microwave in 90 seconds and you don't need any sterilizers! I'm happy to spend the extra cash on these as opposed to normal bottles, but don't wanna waste my money if they don't work!

Kim,
I hadn't heard of them. Where do you get them and how much are they? They would be worth looking into.

My sister uses these and she swears buy them.
They really do work and as far as i know they are only a couple of $$ more then say the Avent/Nuk bottles.
I would have used them also but i went out and brought all my bottles as soon as i knew i was pregnant.. :banghead:
I bought one as I only needed one extra at the time and I thought it was great. So convenient. And from memory you can swap the teats with the avent or target bottles (can't remember which ones now as I have both types) which was great as my daughter couldn't use the pur teat. They are about $11 each I think and also come in two packs.

My cousins use the Pur self-sterilising bottles and love them. I wish I had purchased them myself. So convenient, especially when visiting at other peoples' homes.

THEY ARE THE BEST  You can get a pack of two from Big W for about $18 and they are so convenient. They're the only ones we use. DS is nearly 8 months old and we have 4 that we just rinse out after each feed and once all 4 are rinsed, we sterilise them all together (4.5mins in microwave) then fill with water ready to be used again. So SO handy when going anywhere, like a friends house, cos you only have to take ONE bottle, and you can just resterilise it in their microwave if you need to.
Totally the best bottles we tried. Definitely worth the money.

I bought some when they were clearing them out at Coles a few months back. I was lucky enough to get them for only $4 each!
I was planning a trip interstate, so was hoping to use them then, but we haven't been able to get away since I bought them, so they have remained unused in my cupboard! My DD is so used to Avent bottles now that I don't even know if she'd take these ones.
I swear by these bottles, though am annoyed at myself at the moment I have 4 bottles and only one lid to sterilise with :banghead: :crying: , so if you are going to get them make sure you keep the lids close by, I have burnt myself way too often with steam as I have to use the same lid for all four at a time (lazy at washing here!!)

I already have all my bottles as my oldest is nearly 3 so I couldn't justify the expense of new bottles, however, pidgeon make a bag for a few bucks that you can use 20 times to sterilise bottles. I got mine from big W and it's fabulous! I think it takes about 3 mins from memory.
