Supposedly 9 weeks, but measuring at 6 weeks??Advice needed

Hi,

This is my first post but I have been a reader for the past month or so when I found out I was pregnant.

Now, I am supposed to be 9 weeks along but today I went in to emergency as I spotted some brownish discharge.....and....had an u/s and was told I am only 6 weeks + 3 days!!!

How did this happen? This is quite shocking as it is way behind by 3 weeks!

My HCG levels are quite low for 9 weeks, but good if I am actually 6 weeks measuring at 2500.

Per ultrasound, there was a healthy heart beat at 105 and a good sac.

Anyone had a similar situation before measuring small by weeks??

I guess it depends on how sure you are about your dates? Is it due to getting a positive preg test early or just going on your LMP date.

I had regular periods, so by that would be 8 weeks but only measured 6 weeks on scan, but that does fit in with when the test turned positive (3 weeks ago). So I am not too worried, I guess I just must have O'd later than usual.

hi izzman, I would go with the date that the ultrasound showed up as it would be more accurate. When you are a few more weeks in the pregnancy they will do a dating ultrasound which will confirm how far along you are.

yep happened to me, i am certain of my dates cos my dam period came on our 6 yr aniversary!!!
i'm suppost to be 18wks but ultrasound says 16 wks.. weird but guess we have an excuse to keep eating everything for a few more weeks- yay!:D
