I've made Chicken Chow Mein before but I am craving the mince version. How do you make yours as I know there are several different ways?
I have mince and lots of different vegies but not sure what else to put in....

This recipe is tried and tested by me, its great! I use a little less cabbage though as my fry pan is not big enough, the curry powder is just right for the kids but i add more to mine and hubby's coz we like a little 'kick' to ours
Oh i should add it looks like a lot of cabbage but it cooks down to not much at all.
Last time i made it, i used 2 packets of 2 minute noodles and the flavour sachet instead of the chicken noodle soup.
I guess you could substitute the 500grams of mince for mice, but gee you would hell of a time skinning the buggers  Just Jokes ladies Just Jokes

hmm I reckon bubble and squeek would be better for mice meat ;)
as for mince chow mein, I cheat and use a continental packet recipe base, you just add 500g of beef mince instead of chicken mince (I use chicken mince for chicken chow mein) half a cabbage shredded, 1 onion, the meal base and specified amount of water.
Cook up the mince and onion, add the water and recipe base and cabbage, let simmer covered on low heat for about 30-40 mins until cabbage is cooked.
eta. I forgot, add half a cup to a cup of rice depending on what you want, to the mix before simmering.

I am off to edit now
500grams beef mince
1 onion finely diced
1 clove garlic finely sliced
1/2 cup frozen corn kernals
1/2 cup frozen peas
1 carrot diced
1/2 sugarloaf cabbage sliced
1 cup mushrooms sliced
1 pack of shelf fresh noodles(220gram pack like Hoiken or singapore)
1/3 cup oyster sauce
1-2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1-2 teaspoons of curry powder
1)heat oil in fry pan or wok, cook onion and garlic.
2)Add mince and brown
3)Add mushrooms, carrot, oyster sauce, soy sauce and curry powder. Stir through and cook
4)Add peas, corn, cabbage and noodles, stir through and cook
It should only take 10-15 mins to cook, and about the same for prep
It's a winner with both DD1 and DH who are both quite fussy eaters.

But on a more serious note!!!!
I use mince, from a cow preferably, fry it with a onion and some crushed garlic, add cabbage grated or chopped carrot, whatever else is laying round, curry powder, soy sauce, worstishire sauce salt and pepper and some stock, then i cover with water and boil it then i add rice and more water and simmer it again.
I also liketo add sultanas and sweet chilli sauce too!!

Thanks for the recipes guys.
The mouse has lived to see another day and escaped out the door before I could throw him in the pan.
Will try the dead cow version instead. ;)

I have a few different ways to make it.... but here is my cheap 10 minute dinner variety:
Chop up finely whatever vegies you have in the house - for us 1/2 wombuk cabbage, 2 carrots, 3 sticks cellery, 5 button mushrooms, handful of green beans and a handful of frozen peas!
I either chop up a small brown onion or crush a clove of garlic or both.
put water on to boil for noodles (I cook one packet of 2 minute noodles for each person - adult or child because it balances out at serving time, I use whatever flavour noodles I have in the house - my fave is oriental though!)
In a frying pan on medium heat I cook onion and garlic until it goes clear and then add 500g mince and brown (you can substitute beef with chicken or pork or lamb - whatever meat you have OR for a vegetarian option you could use eggs instead - just scramble 3-5 eggs instead).
Add flavouring and noodles to the boiling water and cook on low.
In the meantime stir through all of your vegies and then add 1/2 tsp curry powder, 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of salty soy and one of sweet and a sprinkle of salt, pepper and ginger powder. Stir about until all the flavours are mixed and it smells good!
Tip out half of the 'noodle water'.
Add all your vegies into the noodle pot and stir.
If you want it soupy serve it as is.
If you want it thickened stir through some corn flour.
Easy! - dinner in 10 mins!
Throw in all of the
