... Monia.
Would you want to say...
a) Mon-ya
b) Mon-ee-a / Monny-a
c) Mo-nee-a
d) Moan-ee-a
e) Something different, if so what?
Thanks!
i like the c pronounciation, and i like the unique unusual names.
how about pronouncing it,
Mo-nia, kinda like how youd say shania (as in Shania twain) but with the Mo

If I was to see it written down, I'd pronounce it as D.

Hi JobyBear,
I work with a girl who's name is Monia and she pronounces is Mon-ya.
I'm not sure where the name is from, and I had never heard it before I met her.
It suits her, I definitely like Mon-ya as a name, a little different, but quite simple as well.
like Monica with the C.

I would say Mon-ee-a :)
I'd pronounce it as the third option - Monica without the "c" sound.

I would choose the pronunciation that sounds least like "moaning", otherwise she might end up with a nickname Moaning Monia. Just my opinion.
When i read it i said it as option D. But i like option A. Kinda like Sonia with an M.
when I saw it written I thought b) Mon-ee-a / Monny-a but I like the Shania with an M way of saying it. I think its a great name, never heard it before:D

im unsure of how i would pronounce it, but i just wanted to say, if your having trouble with pronounciation now then this will be likely to happen for the rest of their life and could prove quite confusing and annoying, not trying to sway your opinion or disagree just thought i would bring that to attention..good luck with it though
Id probably go with the mon - ee - a pronunsiantion - but if you think of the name sonia - it would possibly be mon-ya?
