View Full Version : Mops!
Not sure if this the right spot to put this, but here goes...
Does anyone have a mop they love? I have one of those string ones that is now at the stage were it drops a string or too each mop! I bought the bucket at the same time so would love to be able to replace the mop and keep the same bucket if possible.
Have tried the sponge ones previously but since I don't mop often (oops!) it dries out too much and cracks and just goes bad. Haven't tried the super absorbent ones though.
If you love yours give me the goss....!

I LOVE my steam mop.
Its so easy to use. I know they are a bit more expensive then the normal mops you can buy but i think it works out cheaper in the end as you dont need to buy the disinfectants to clean with... the steam does all the work. No need for scrubbing either.. the mob just glides over the floor and gets rid of all the nasties.:yelclap:
i dont use mops anymore, sick of the mop falling apart every time i use it, so i brought a vileda rapid ATTractive floor cleaner, comes with a little water holder compartment where you fill it up with water and chemical/floor products and you attach it to the rod and press the button and it squirts out water while you mop. cost me around $40 in the supermarkets, but i love it, and mopping floors are done so quicker now.:yelclap:
BUT i would love one of those steam mops.
I've actually got one of the steam mops but don't like it! It's a steam machine so by the time I fill it, wait for it to heat up, and add attachments, etc. I could have already done the floor! Then you've got to wait for it to cool down b4 you can pack it away...
... all excuses I know!

i have a steam mop and love it, it cleans quickly and the floor drys in no time at all. i bleach the clothes after each use so it is also cost effective. you can usually get a good deal at godfreys.

I bought one of the sabco mops that squirts out the detergent and water but it broke after one use.. and i could't refund it because i had lost the reciept (i bought it along with my groceries at woolies).. For 40 dollars i was NOT impressed!
I have now switched to the vilida supermop and bucket (initially i was attracted to the bright red colour). Ive had it for a few months and so far i have not had to replace the soft part (although you can buy them separatly if needed). You can also throw it into the wash if it gets dirty which is a bonus.
