HI ladies,
I live in Berwick, Vic and was wondering if anyone is in my area, if you wanted to catch up for a walk each week, or a coffee for the occassional chat and support.
Hubby and I have been trying for 6 months now, and was recently told I have PCOS and a blocked right tube. We are seeing a PCOS expert / gynocologist in a week and a half to learn more about our steps from here.
Anyway, if you are interested, let me know.
All the best to all of you on this crazy journey!!
Hey:wave:,
I am in Endeavour Hills and am pretty new to the whole PCOS thing, was dx in January after 10 months of irregular cycles. I recently saw gyno but was not overly happy with the appt after being told to wait it out another 3 months, who are you going to see if you dont mind me asking?
Would be nice to chat to someone in similar situation in the area.
Hope that you get that :bfp: soon!

Hi Kylnor,
I am booked in to see Dr Gareth Weston at Monash IVF Clayton. Hubby and I went to a fertility seminar last Tuesday where he spoke about different fertility problems. Apparently he is an expert in PCOS so we are very excited!! You need a referal letter from your GP to go, but we only had to wait 2 weeks to see him. Another appointment I made with a different specialist at the same clinic was a 3 month wait. As my profile name states, i am way to impatient to wait that long. Perhaps give his clinic a call, Ph: 9544 0838.
I would love to catch up to chat further. My personal email address is jacqueline.schou@yahoo.com.au .
Good luck with the coming months.

I am 19 years of age and have just been diagnosed with an advanced rate of PCOS. I am currently taking Metformin and Spironolactone to combat the symptoms as early as we can. My partner has just had his 30th birthday. So we have a few things against us...
We have been advised by our doctor that if we were planning to have a family together, that now would be our best chance of conceiving and carrying through the pregnancy. I just want to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Every woman is different. I want a family with all my heart, but I dont want the pressure of PCOS to ruin the romance or the fun of starting a family.
:gloomy:
Please help...

Wow, what a small world!! We had our first appointment last Thursday with Dr Weston. We thought he was brilliant too. I am booked in for a laparoscopy this Thursday so that he can look further into the problems with my right tube and PCOS. With the results he can then let us know our best course of action. I am so excited to hopefully be on the right track to being a mum, but also nervous about the procedure.
Good luck Eleni with IVF. Please let me know how you go!! Fingers crossed for some wonderful news soon!!

lol.we must have been at the same seminar and like you i was booked in with another doctor in a months time but i got an appointment with dr weston a week later and was very impressed.:yelclap:
i had my laparoscopy a month ago and it showed that both my tubes are blocked and they could not unblock them.we have been trying for just over a year.it is a little painful for a few days after so make sure you put your feet up and i hope you get some good news.dont be so nervous.you will be fine and look at it at a step as getting closer to your dream.:smiliedance:
it is a very frustrating journey but it is a relief when you have the answers you are looking for especially when you have tried everything and you know there is something wrong.at least dr weston will tell you honestly what he thinks.i saw a few doctors before him and they were very confusing.dr weston got straight to the facts and said-IVF is your only chance-unless a miracle happens which he has witnessed many times.so now im just waiting for my period which will be in 2 weeks and we have our counselling session in one weeks time.
i hope everything goes well on thursday and will be waiting to hear your news.you can also write to me to my email address johneleni_asimakis@hotmail.com.
i live in north dandy and nice to be talking to someonw who is going through the same thing as many people around me just dont seem to get my down days.thank god for an awesome husband.
hope to hear from you again.
:hugs:

Hi Jules16,
I am very excited for you. Dr Weston is amazing!! You wont be disappointed!! Good luck, i'm sure he will help you reach your dream soon!!
Since i was last on here, lots has happened in my life. Turns out IVF is our only option for having a baby, so without further thought, we signed up, started the nasal sprays and injections, and i am now pupo (pregnant until proven otherwise). Our embryo was transfered last Tuesday, and i get a blood test next Friday to see if i'm pregnant. It all seems sureal. Although i am staying positive, and keeping my fingers and toes crossed for a positive result, i still can't imagine being pregnant..... It has been a longer journey than we expected, so to think in a weeks time, i could find out i am pregnant, it would be a dream come true!!
Keep me updated throughout your journey. My fingers will stay crossed for you!!
xx
Thanks so much for your post - how exciting!!! Please keep me posted!! I have everything crossed for you!! We have already been very blessed with our first - our little boy Blake who is nearly sixteen months old. We started trying in early 2005 and he was born three years later. And now we desperately want to give him a sibling.
Anyway, sending you lots of :babydust2:.
:fingerscrossed:

Hi Guys,
Did a search for Gareth Weston and found people from Berwick!!! Very small world!!!!
We have a gorgeous 11 month old daughter thanks to the wonderful efforts of Dr Weston!!!! He was so caring. He started off as our IVF doctor and after 2 cycles, we managed to get pregnant! He did my egg pick up, embryo transfer AND delivered our Isabella!!!!! It was a pretty amazing experience and he was really part of all of it! I have found that friends who are doing IVF have doctors that dont' seem to care about them, they just care about the numbers!
I think I'm coming into the conversation about a year late, but couldn't help but say hi!!!!
Hope you're all going well!!!
