I am new to this and not sure what to do. I was looking for support and some experiences of what I am going through. I am currently 7 weeks along and went for an ultrasound last week. There was nothing in my uterus and doctor ordered blood test. My first test came back with 9000 hcg and the next test was around 6000 hcg. They told me on the phone that it is a definite miscarriage and told me to come in if the bleeding and cramps were impossible to stand. I am not bleeding and have very mild cramps. The nurse didn't understand this and I am coming in for another ultrasound on Tuesday and I am having more blood drawn. The nurse on the phone said I should have bleeding by now. Also two years ago I had to have a forced miscarriage because my body couldn't handle the pregnancy. I have been devistated ever since.

I don't want to get my hopes up because I don't want to set myself up for failure. I have no other signs of miscarriage. I guess what I am wondering if anyone else is going through this or if they have gone through a similar situation or have any insight with my case. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that HCG levels need to grow consistently, or else there is a loss :( I am not a doctor or midwife though.

I am really sorry that you're going through this. You have every right to be devastated. Please take care of yourself, and go back and see your doctor if you haven't had any sign tomorrow. Have they tried a scan? That way you would at least know if your baby has a chance.

You are in my thoughts, and I really pray for a miracle for you. :hugs:

Thanks for the support. I go for another ultrasound on Tuesday, vaginal again. Last time I was pregnant I was also diagnosed with an extremely tilted uterus and I am wondering if this may be another reason why they didn't see anything in the scan.

Thanks for your support and I will let you guys know what happens on Tuesday.

very strange that they didn't see anything on the U/S yet you have high HCG and no bleeding???

I think it sounds as though no-one knows whats going on (including dr's) so it's a sit tight and TRY not to stress (hehe.. like we can stop stressing).

Lots of luck and love :hugs:

Good luck for tuesday

That's very low HCG for 7 weeks. At around 7 weeks I was 74,618. I'd say a miscarriage is imminent.

I'm not sure but I think you have to be over 10,000 hcg before anything is visible in an ultrasound & as your's is dropping that's not likely to happen, unfortunately.

Sometimes a miscarriage can take a while to happen. Sometimes it doesn't happen even though the bub has died and you have to have a D&C to assist bub out.

Please take care.

I have a very tilted and retroverted uterus and was able to carry 4 children very well. Do make sure you double check with your specialist before they give this as your reason for your troubles.
