Hi all! I've been a long time reader and this is actually the first time I'm posting and I must say thanks alot for all the information/experiences people have posted!

I've recently bought Baby Beehinds Magics AIO small for my daughter who is now 2 months old. Previously we have been using terry cloths but it is getting to the stage where our folding nappies can't contain the output she produces so I had done research here and on other oz nappy cloth sites on what to buy and we ended up with the above MCN.

Now the problem is I've noticed that our daughter gets really hot when she wears them and gets really fussy.. We have her in a shirt and the nappy and thats it. Her upper thighs are a little sweaty and also her bum. Is it just because of the weather? since it is summer? but how will we handle next year's summer?

Also the crotch area is a little too wide for her and she cant quite close her legs.. is this going to affect her growth?

And finally we are getting leaks around the inner or outer thigh areas depending on whether she had been lying on her chest(supervised) when she did her business, is this normal or is the nappy too big for her?

Thanks for reading!

The biggest problem with MCN IMO is that what suits one kid doesnt suit all kids because they are all different shapes .... I do find some of DS' nappies are wider across the crutch that others, generally I have found however that these ones are super absorbant and better for long stretches than others making them a great daytime nap nappy. As for the leaks if its only happening at a certain angle the only thing I can think of is changing the positioning of the insert (if it has one) or adding a little one as I imagine it wouldnt be too often she is regularly on her belly unless she is really young....
Best of luck!

A wide crotch isn't going to affect her growth any! My poor DD has the most gigantic night nappy and she waddles like a penguin with it on  but it hasn't affected her at all. I was actually put in big wide crotched nappies as a baby to help with a shallow hip joint!

As far as the leaks go with Magic-alls make sure the nappy is tucked in neatly at the crotch when you put it on so none of her thigh is caught in the nappy. Otherwise when she moves her leg the part of her thigh that was caught in the nappy will slip out and the nappy will gape a bit at the crotch. Also pull the wings up nice and high and neat on her hips so you don't end up with wing droop which can cause leaking.

As Missie said every bub suits different nappies, so if you are stiff finding the Magic-alls aren't working with your LO then maybe try another brand or style. MCNs on little babies can be difficult to fit, so you may find that as your bub gets older and bigger the Magic-alls work better on her.:)

And welcome to the Hub!

thanks for the replies!

I haven't tried adjusting the boosters but I have tried not putting in the booster and it didnt help. I will try making sure the elastics are turned out to prevent the leaks and I'm glad my bub isnt the only one with the wide crotch problem so I guess it isnt really a problem.

Are pockets suppose to be a better fit in general compared to AIO?

And my other concern is whether or not she is getting too hot down there cause it doesn't seem to be as breathable as I had thought.. Although I am comparing it to terry clothes and I have tried dispossables as well and her bum etc wasn't as hot or sweaty.

Why not trying a MCN made of more natural fibres? I have yet to begin using my MCN's (due in about a week), but maybe the BBH bamboo fitteds would work?
You can call them, they are so nice and helpful.
