I have been best friends with a friend for 21 years.... although i have always felt like i give more and she just continues to take.... lots of stories but too many to write... so i was growing resentful of our friendship and told her how i was feeling... her response...
At least my children have their mother and father... Your DS will have less of a life because he doesnt have a dad! i cant believe that a friend of 21 years could say this and a friendship can be destroyed with those few words..... she is now bad mouthing me to anyone who will listen!

I wouldn't be too worried about losing THAT friendship chic. If that's the way she behaves then you're probably better off without her.
People are in our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime - perhaps this season has just ended.

Seriously how can anyone think that let alone say it out loud!!!!! Many kids have very difficult lives because of their parents being in bad relationships.
Sounds like she was more of a user than a friend so it's her loss, not yours.
OMG that is just awful, what a spiteful cow!!! I still cant believe that people in todays society have this outdated attitude.....and then for a long term friend to say it???? Wow you are definitely better off without someone like that :hugs:

Because you can cut her out of your life and not even waste another 21 seconds of thinking about her and her pitiful existance.

lol!!! thanks everyone for your responses you have made me feel sooo much better! i just wish i had have had some of those responses when i was talking to her!
