FTB B & $900 stimulus payment

We choose not to get FTB B fortnightly as my part time earnings may push us above the threshold, hence we would have to pay the FTB B back if earned too much.

Just checked my bank account and we have been paid the $900 stimulus money, as we qualify for FTB B. The FA website clearly states if we dont get FTB B fortnightly, they will look at our income after submitting tax returns, and then pay the $900 if we qualify for it.

So if I earn too much this year for FTB B, Ill have to pay the $900 back, wont I??? :hair:

I am not sure about paying it back, you only had to be eligible on 3 feb 2009 not necessarily after that. I know on another site the girls who collect it at tax time have also been payed this week. Not sure if that helped any.....

ETA this doesn't go onto your taxable income for ftb or child support so maybe you wont have to pay it back, so long as you met the requirements on 3 feb.

I agree witht the PP. We got it paid also and don't usually do so until the end of financial year. I assume we don't have to pay it back as long as on feb 3 we met the requirements.

My sister also gets her payment at the end of the year.

When she asked about the stimulus payment she was told that some people might get it now. Kind of slipping through the cracks i guess ;)

I think it was based on last year's income, so you should be safe. :)

I'd call Centerlink just to be sure though.

I'm a bit confused, because reading the ads in the newspapers, they all say, stimulus payments to be sent out start of April. Yet I received a payment of $900 on March 13th. I can't find the paperwork but my online banking payment description says: HSP Family Payment.
Is this the stiumulus payment, or something else? :confused:

we got $900 as well, I got a letter from centrelink saying it was the FTB b and we are the same we dont claim until tax time...

If you are eligible for the tax b or school aged child one you would have received it in march.

If you were a worker who received less than 100 000 last financial year you receive your payment in april..

Is there anyone else out there who has a school aged child but doesn't claim FTB till the end of the financial year who DIDN'T receive it in march? i assumed I will get it (if eligible) in july but now I'm wondering as a lot of people seem to have gotten it despite not claiming till July... :detective:
