She will crawl when she is ready to. No-where does it say babies must crawl by a certain age. My DD crawled with one leg forward and one back at 11 mths + 1 week. She crawled 'normally' 1 week after that. She stood and cruised 1 week after that and then walked on her own 1 week after that! The longer it takes for them to get up and move, the stronger they will be when it happens. Don't stress, it will happen in good time.:)

My oldest girl walked before she crawled. My cousins bub did not crawl untill she was well over 1yr and did not walk untill just before she was 2 and she is perfectly healthy. Don't worry about it at all. I was told by my baby nurse, that untill they are 2yrs old it doesn't really matter what they do and when they do it.

I wouldnt worry too much Boof was about 11mths before he got the hang of crawling properly but then 2wks later he was cruising around holding onto everything & is now walking around so dont wish for it lol ! Dont get me wrong its amazing watching them but boy can they get into sooooo much trouble !!!!
They do things when they are ready so dont stress too much she is probably waiting to get up & walk or run then you will be in trouble !!! :D

thanku soooooooo much for all your lovely replies, sometimes all you need is for someone else to say don't worry my baby did that or i know of someones baby that did that. I want my baby to be her own person and have her own mind and i guess she has taken me literally. BURN BABY BOOKS!!!
I agree my little sister never crawled, she just went straight to walking and that was it.
All babys do it in their own good time....if at all ;)

Like others have said, babies certainly do things to their own little schedule!
Something that a lot of people don't know is that crawling is actually not a developmental marker. What that means is that how soon or late a baby crawls does not have anything to do with how they are developing. Some babies never crawl.
If your bub is crawling later than the "average", then rest easy! It doesn't mean they are developmentally delayed, in fact it is not even an indicator! All it means is that your bub has decided that she doesn't need to crawl as yet.:)

my DD didnt crawl till a week before her 1st birthday & then didnt walk till 16months - dont think there is anything to worry about if she is a bit late - my DD seems perfectly well developed in everything else - if you are really worried see your GP but im sure she is just enjoying keeping her knees clean!

My older sister (the oldest child) didnt start crawling till a few weeks after her first birthday, and hadnt got the full gist of walking till just before her 2nd birthday. However my brother followed and was up walking by 11 months, then me, i was walking by 10 months, and my younger sister was walking by 9 months!! My parents say its because they had an older child they wanted to follow around so they felt more encouraged to learn to crawl and walk. But this is another example of children doing things when they are ready to:yes:
But like others have said- we all start to crawl and walk when we are good and ready:yes:
Dont be worried, afterall, you'll soon be missing the days when she didnt know how to crawl after things she shouldnt be going near:p

Please dont worry!!! My ds didnt start crawling untill 11 and ahalf months and when he did he crawled backwards:laughing: and he didnt walk untill he was 16 months, they will do it when they are ready, and trust me once your cherub starts crawing and walking you`ll be shock at how fast the time goes and wished your bub was small again, well thats what i wished anyway:D

My niece was 13mnths when she started crawling and is now 1 and a half and isn't walking yet.. It will come in time she got around in other ways
My nephew was happy to sit in one place until he was 19 months old at which point he just stood up one day and started walking! he had stood in his cot a few times, but never even cruised around furniture let alone crawled! He is now 8 years old and a talented rugby union player with no co-ordination difficulties etc.
Good things (often) take time!
my dp didnt crawl cos he was a fat baby. but he could walk just fine

I wouldn't be too stressed unless there are other things that might cause concern. If bubs is rolling and lifting her head, then crawling won't be far off. If she isn't doing much of anything, then get her checked by a doc.
