Bub won't take bottle from Dad

Hi,

I am having trouble with my little fella refusing to take a bottle from his dad... It doesn't matter if it is breastmilk or formula he flatly refuses the bottle. This is making it increasingly difficult for me to even go out to work as I am worried about bub not getting a feed. Dad has even tried to wear one of my pj tops so that bub can still smell me and he still won't take a bottle...

Does anyone have any tips?????

i have this problem to, i do PartyPlan and sometimes i do shows that are not local, i find myself stressing to get out by the end of the show because i know Makenzie will not have a bar of the bottle and is due for a feed. Looking forward to reading some feedback from others.

Hi, you didn't mention whether you are breastfeeding or if baby will take a bottle from you. If baby won't take a bottle from either og you, maybe try a different teat. Pigeon peristaltic nipple was recommendedd to me by the lactation consultant as its supposed to be more like a 'real' nipple. Does that help? Hope so.

Sorry :) ... I'm breastfeeding, I have been trying to use the Pigeon peristaltic nipple and bub does take a bottle (formula and expressed breast milk) from me, but won't take it from dad. Zack just arches his back and cries whenever his dad goes to feed him.

just a question are you stressing about this when you are expressing ? silly questions but sometimes if your'e stressed and expressing it turns yours milk sour. The other thing is are you in the room while he's feeding or are you out of the house ?

I try to leave the room/be out of the house when he is trying to give a bottle to him but that doesn't make any difference.

Try the Pur newborn teat....its shapped so they have to use the same action to drink as they do from the breast. Ollie loves it! :)

after much persistance, and trying new things to see if they work... Zack likes to drink from a cup!!! :smiliedance:

my neice doesnt like to take the bottle from anyone when she is bein baby sat.. but in the end she does, i guess they will try go for as long as they can to try get what they want but in the end i dont think they will starve themselves!
