DD2 will be 1 in 6 weeks and I can't think of what to get her. She prefers her sister's toys and being the second we have all of DD1 old baby toys anyway....Any ideas for a good toy? I really want to her something, wouldn't be fair not to get her a pressie, even if she wouldn't notice really, don't you think? I mean, her sister always has gotten a present....:cloud9:
I have the same problem
What to get her?
Sorry can't help!

for my DD 1st bday we went a bit over board and bought so many things- and you know what he didn't really play with them til 1 year later- he didnt really care.
so we've learnt to only really buy things thats age apporatie and not to much as it over whelms him
we bought him a kitchen set for his 2nd as he always played with his friends- do you think he plays with it much NOOOOO.
now we always give him Thomas as we know we cant go wrong- he loves Thomas.
1year olds are hard i find as they still really arnt into things toys as such more making mess with things they arnt allowed to touch lol
Books- i love books and read to my DS alot which he loves
Clothes- cant go wrong there

Maybe a ride on car, even if she can't use it just yet she might be able to in a few months.
I will try and think of other things.

blackboard to draw/scribble on?
I got my DS a really nice elephant rocker - it was either that or one of those really funky vintage kids pedal cars - you know the red ones with the white stripe down the middle:) I thought the big number 1 deserved a special pressie..I've since come to realise that I think that every year (his big 3 is coming up in August!) Good luck!
My DD's birthday was last week and we had the same problem. Her brother has alot of stuff already and we had to be conscious of the space issue.
We ended up getting her more animal attachments for the fisher-price animal train and some books.
I actually still feel a bit guilty for not doing more.
When our DD turned one we bought her a Fisher Price 'Laugh and Learn Home' she absolutely loved it, and is 2.5 now and still plays with it.

When our DD turned one we bought her a Fisher Price 'Laugh and Learn Home' she absolutely loved it, and is 2.5 now and still plays with it.
DD1 got that too and got heaps of use out of it. Or we have the Fisher Price bouncing ride on zebra which is a huge hit, my nearly 3 yr old still jumps on it.
Hard to know what else to suggest as you've prob got most things.
My DD will be 1 soon too but she is our only child ATM so don't know if my suggestions are going to clash with what you already have for DD1.
I have already bought her some really big blocks, like HUGE lego that they can't choke on. (She is in child care 2 days a week as I work part-time and they told me the other day she loves it and always plays with it there.) I have put some wooden blocks on lay-by. I am also getting a sandpit and some things to play with in the sandpit like bucket and spade etc.
We have a tiny yard but everytime I open the door, she wants to go outside. Lucky we are moving to a bigger house with a huge yard so we can play outside more often.
Hi, its my DDs 1st birthday in a couple of weeks, this is what i have got her...
sorry dont know what happened there ahaha....
- Small dolls pram
- Small dolly
- 2 huge pads of paper
- several boxes of pencils/crayons
- those crayola rounded 'my first' type crayons.
- small tub of playdough (i think she will be too young yet, but bought it anyway to try it)
- dressing gown ready for winter

Oh, such good ideas, thanks! I like the idea of the ride on or trike or maybe little bits like crayons/puzzles, etc. You are right, every 1 year old I know love their gumboots but i still have DD1's old ones. I already have a laugh and learn house, they both love it. That's the problem, isn't it? I have so many toys already! the house is already overtaken by all sort of baby paraphernalia! And the best? their birthdays are 3 days apart, so I have to come out for DD1 too, any ideas for a 3 year old that doesn't like dollies? :o
