Stimulus package for carers

Do we get it? i get a carers allowance for my son and the other payments are showing up on the centrelink site but not the carers allowance. i'm sure i read it somewhere. and do we still get the $1,000 bonus in june or has the Rudd gov taken that from us.

The $1000 in june/july im not sure about..but the other one no you dont get its only if your under 19 and on a carers allowance/payment.

My son is 5 and gets the carers allowance which gets paid to me so does that mean we should get it?

The Back to School Bonus is a payment of $950 per eligible child to assist families with the costs of school for their children. You may receive the payment if, on 3 February 2009, you were eligible to receive:

Family Tax Benefit Part A for a child who was aged 4-18 years (inclusive) on 3 February 2009, or
Carer Payment or Disability Support Pension and were aged less than 19 years old on 3 February 2009

yep, it isn't the carer allowance (unfortunately), its the carer payment, and only for some of them.

I was told there is no payment for carers this time round and there wont be the 1000 dollar payment in june or july because we got the payment in the first package in december .I guess rudd forgot to tell carers that in december.I was told this by centrelink.

Not on this one no, only the careers pension people get this one, But as careers we all got the 1000 bonus last year remember:smiliedance:
