I should add that we were here for sometime in 07 and did most of the touristy things then. I was more after places that locals might go!!! Like play centers, putt putt etc. Anyone been to Tasmazia?

The links i gave u above may have some places to go like what u have mentioned...
But also wanted to add we have the Launceston lakes at riverside , about 10 minutes from launceston where u get to see and feed wildlife, see the tasmania devil etc..
We also have the city park, which is located in central city, and there we have monkeys, play equipment, train rides, and flower house ...
There is also a place called old mac farm which is located at Norwood, where u find farm animals and can pick strawberries when in season..
There is putt putt golf at Gravelly beach located 20 minutes out of launceston and also putt putt Golf at Grindalwald- also there at grindalwald there is a chocolate shop, and a jumping ball ...
Tasmazia is great and we have many in tasmania and they all are great for the kids..
We also have Kids paradise - which is located at Riverside 10 minutes from central city and its cost effective for families and its a theme factory play area...
Hope that gives u more stuff to do..
Also there are many tracks /parks to take the kids for walks and have BBQS at..
The above is where i take my kids at most school holidays ...

hi tayahnkai, I think everything I was going to suggest in Launcestion has been mentioned already but I still wanted to say hi:wave:
There are also some great places to have a look at depending on how far out of town you want to go.
Two things that I might suggest is -there is a travel expo on this weekend $5 for adults to get in children free-they might have some ideas there??? and the other suggestion is check out the Tasmanian entertainment book - they cost $55 and have heaps of vouchers (buy one get on free or %% off ) for heaps of things around Tas!! I have the last one and it is great-definately ordering one for this year too :)
By the way :o I am mum to Indiana 2.5yrs and we live just out of Perth :D

Thanks TazzieAngel I will check out the entertainment book. My DD is selling them for a fundraiser. I never bought the ones back home cos everything was too far away. However it might be handy here especially since we will be having lots of family visit us and will be travelling all over Tassie.
I was thinking of going down to Hobart at Easter does anyone know if the Salamanca markets run Easter Saturday?
BTW I have 2 kids Tayah is 3.5 and Kai is 15months (tomorrow!!!!)

I am pretty sure it is still running over easter :) What are they fundraising for?? I was going to buy mine from the cancer council same as last year -not sure who else was selling them locally :)
There is always things like the evendale market, Esk market (showgrounds at invermay) both on sunday mornings they are usually good to go for a wander through etc-and if you go to esk over the next two weeks come say hi (I'm having a stal to raise money for bushfire relief) There are things like Brickadon farm at Longford , also Woolmers estate rosegarden etc, if you join playgroup Tasmania they will often email you with things that are coming up around the place.
I will try to add anymore when I think of them I just cant think right now -lol

DD is selling the books for school - Grammar. Not sure how it works we just got a letter to say that they were coming. Will keep an eye out at the markets. We have been to both and didn't really find anything there so havn't been back. We were here in 07 and there seemed to be alot more stores at esk I got some great PP clothes real cheap. They seemed a bit quiet. Hopefully the weather is good on Sunday, we might be able to venture out.
