I'm thinking I'd like to do Mount Warning, NSW when DD will be around 11 months. Aside from needing to do a lot of work on my level of fitness in the mean time, I need to find a suitable carrier for the journey.
We have done it several times without bubs and it is mostly a gentle incline/steps with a short chain climb at the top. I think it took us about 2hrs up and 1hr down last time.
Has anyone got any suggestions for what type of baby/toddler carrier we should buy. I have a Bubba Moe sling at the moment but I don't think it will do for that long a walk and definitely not for the chain climb.
TIA

the 3 carriers that I just love for tramping are the MacPac one, the Bye Bye Frontier Cruiser and the ones from Kathmandu, i'm not sure if you can even buy them here in oz though,

Thanks Kewe. I'll have a look into those ones for starters.

Did you favour any one out of those three?

I used the Bye Bye one quite a bit, they are all a bit of the same

I really liked them comfort wise, everything is nice and padded, you can get sun covers for them (best thing to have while on long walks) and you can also get rain covers for them, also they have storage pockets in them (great for putting food/nappies/wipes/drinks in there) which is ideal as you don't have to carry anything else, also they stand on their own, so great for feeding the young ones in them

We went bushwalking at Wilson's Prom with our ds in the Ergo, he was 22 months old at the time and it was great. It's hard going because of his weight and the challenges of bushwalking, but my dh was up to the challenge (my back wouldn't have coped).
