We are going to start trying for a baby in August after our health insurance kicks in. I was just wondering if anyone else was as well? It would be nice to have some pregnant buddies to chat to who are going to be at the same stage as me. Also just wondering if anyone can give me any advice. Our first child was a condom surprise (I hate the word accident) and my periods were really irregular back then anyway. It has been nearly five years and I can't remember all the do's and don't's of pregnancy. Also any tips on conceiving would be great. I have heard about something called maybe baby. What is it? I am terrible at taking my temperature and measuring mucus and stuff like that so any tips on conceiving quickly would be great. I had a rotten pregnancy before and if we fall in august then I can go back to Australia and get my parents to help look after me and DD. Thanks all. :)

Hi summerly
I to will be trying in august. Well we have been trying to concieve for two months with no luck and have not made it in july so hopefully august will be good. I have just purchased maybe baby and will begin to try. Basically it is a microscpe about the size of a lighter. Each morning you are too put a small amount of saliva onto the glass replace cover look thru the hole and turn the microscope around (sorry if it sounds complicated but it is very easy) You then compare what you can see to the paper provided. You will then be able to tell whether you are ovulating or not. For more information you can scroll thru some threads were it has already been discussed. I'm not sure of the success rate but l have asked and am waiting reply. I will let you know. Good luck.

Hi Summerly & hopefullnanny
I too will be trying in august, just have to have a pap smear first, as i had treatment on an abnormal one 6mths ago, the Dr isn't too concerned as my last one was clear but i just want to make sure for my own peace of mind.
Talk soon!

Hi Summerly, I'm hoping not to be trying in August, but you never know with these things so if I miss out in July, I could be joining you! I have bought maybe baby too, and also take my temps each morning. Have been doing the temperature thing sporadically the past 2 months but am doing it every day now (3rd month of actual trying - like you I had health insurance etc to sort out). I find it really easy, actually. Have you heard of www.fertilityfriend.com? It makes recording stuff like that very easy and simple to track - I wouldn't be without it (part of my daily ritual now).
Well, good luck anyway! BTW, I take it there's some Chinese in your family (or DH's) by Caitlin's name... where are you now? (we've spent lots of time o/s and our best friends live in Shanghai). Oh, and as for the dos and don'ts of pregnancy - I'm only familiar with all the downers - no alcohol, no coffee, no sushi, no soft cheese... :o. I'm sure the sacrifice will be well worth it in the end though!
Hopefulnanny - you must have missed my reply to your success question.. did you see my post about Min? And funnily enough Min just posted last night too, to let us know how her pregnancy is going! Min found out she was ovulating on day 8 instead of her usual day 14 using maybe baby!! That's what made me run out and buy it! There are a few testimonials on their website too. www.maybebaby.com.au.
Good luck everyone!

Yes, my husband is Chinese Australian and we are living in Singapore at the moment. Big city is certainly a huge change from the farm. We are hoping to come back to Australia next year to stay again for a while. Singapore is nice enough but it's just not home and I want to be closer to family. Also hoping to go back to study when the second one is about 2 so I kind of have things all planned out on a timeline. Fingers crossed! I haven't been able to find maybe baby here yet, but others have recommended something called Clear Plan though apparently it is a bit pricey.

Hi ladies,
I am hoping not to be joining you in the TTC august thread but if it doesn't happen this month I look forward to talking to you all...
I am on day 15 so still a ways to go before I find out if we have been successful or not in July.
Will keep you all updated.

Yes, we will be trying in August.
My greatest challenge is my age (I'm 39)
My DH is 30 and we already have a DD who is 5.
I have been reading a number of books about conceiving naturally after detoxing your body for 4 mths.
So, we've been eating organic food for the last 4 months with moderate excercise and deliberately steering clear of caffeine, artificial additives and anything unecessary.
At the moment I'm just waiting for AF to arrive because we skipped a day of BD just before I was due to O. (Due to fatigue)
So, I really have my doubts about this month, but who knows? We may even be pleasantly surprised.
