Just wondering if anyone has any advice for me...

My DS has had the runs (sorry if TMI) today... think my last count was 7 pooey nappies... Just wondering whether he has a bug or if it could be related to him starting on milk... BTW, he is on lactose free milk as I think he may be intolarant..

Here is how I introduced milk:

Last Thursday he had milk on his weetbix... He also had his last dosage of Zantac
Since Friday - Milk on his cereal and morning bottle/cup, half milk half waterHe is still having 1 breastfeed at night before bed and a formula bottle in the afternoon (until i finish off the tin)...

I'm thinking it is just a bug, because it has been a few days since introducing milk... We are going to the doctors tomorrow (he needs to have the dressing changed on his hand after burning it on a wood heater, but thats another story)... Just thought I would get some opinions from you lovely ladies...

It could be a bug, the killer gastro thing is going around (weve had it all week:eek: )

But it could also be a reaction to the milk, my son is allergic to dairy but i only see the effects of this after say a week or so of having dairy products, he would get mucusy and congested, cough alot and get wheezy.

However he could just be intolrant to it and having the runs could be a reaction to a slow build up of too much dairy.

If he has a bug (and has done 7 dirty nappies in one day ) then he would be pretty lethargic, sleeping alot, not very active, not wanting to eat etc etc

Talk to your GP but either way I would stop the dairy for a while, coz if it is a bug his body wont want heavy stuff at the moment AND if it is a reaction then stop and see if the runs stop?

The other day at the chemist I noticed a new range of formulas and there is one for babies and children with Diarroea. I think the brand is Novalac if that is any help to you.
