My daughter was had her speech assessment yesterday and it confirmed what her Kindy teacher and I suspected, she has a significant language delay - approximately 12 months behind, though she wasn't exactly at her most cooperative for some of the assessment!

There's a stupidly long wait on the public system (yeah, there's nothing wrong with QLD Health at all!!) so we've decided to go private.

I'm looking for a speech pathologist, preferably on the southside, but we'd be willing to travel for a good one.

Thanks :)

Thanks guys, I'd appreciate any contact details.

Her speech isn't terrible, there are certainly children facing much bigger communication challenges, and she does seem to be making slow but steady progress.

I'd like to learn strategies to help her catch up before it starts to impact on her learning and social skills for pre-prep/prep.
