Um :o I'm sort of embarrased to ask this, but where are your ovaries? I mean, I've looked at anatomy books, and I know what they would look like if I dissected myself, but where would I need to poke from the outside to be poking my ovaries?
The reason I ask this, is people say you can get a pain in your ovaries when you ovulate, but I don't really know where that pain should be, and when your are TTC you tend to feel a multitude of pains from everywhere below your belly button....
:o
I hope this doesn't sound like too stupid a question...

Usually they are just above your pelvic bone.
Any type of pain in the abdomen is very general.. it can often appear to be somewhere totally different to where you think it is.
For instabce appendicitis pain starts off just above the belli button.
My ovulation pain is normally felt on the right hand side, between my bellibutton and my hip bone.

That's a good question. When I think I am having ovulation pain usually it's gas. So i don't think I have felt ovulation pain exactly. They say it can last for a few minutes from a few hours, so who knows. There is too much anatomy in that area to be completely sure.

Rather than start another thread I thought I might add this one in here...
I am interested in hearing stories of women who were pg but still got AF. - for how many cycles did AF still come? how did you know you were pg? was is an unusual pg? were you still on the pill? was AF any different to non pg AF?
I'd love to hear any real life stories!
gosh little fish, I Think that one deserves a thread on its own, am very interested to hear about those as well.
As for where are your ovaries, yes, just obove your pubic bone...somewhere there lol

I get ovulation pain every couple of months, just on the right side. I don't feel it anywhere near my belly button, it's more over to the side above teh pubic bone. Bit hard to describe without showing though.
I saw that Amazing Human Body exibit with the plastisised bodies and as far as I could see they are behind the pubic bone but I don't think they have any sensation so you feel pain from them in different places to where they acually are.:detective:
I suppose.

Thanks guys, so they are somewhere around my pelvic bone but could give me pain anywhere... difficult little critters aren't they!
Thanks Sonja, I took your advice and started a new thread in the hope someone out there has a story or two...
