Short luteal phase after BCP?

Hi there

Has anyone experienced a short luteal phase after stopping the Birth control pill and if so did your luteal phase go back to it's original length.

Just worried mine is a bit short...I've strtaed spotting at 10 DPO but normally I have a 16 day luteal phase when not on the pill

I have had some very strange cycles after stopping BCP. First one i bled for 3 weeks straight then a week later had small bleed. Next cycle was normal. Next one was "normal" except for not ovulating until CD19 and then getting AF 10 days later. This time around I had normal 7 day AF and then got spotting from CD11-18 (or thereabouts), now on CD19 and spotting has finally stopped.

The doctor tells me that sometimes it can take months for our bodies to get used to not being on BCP. It is very frustrating. He has organised for me to have weekly blood tests for a month to check my hormone levels. Sometimes they can be a bit out of wack and may need a helping hand. I say go and see the doctor, it can't hurt.

Thanks for your reply. this is my first cycle temping so I might wait til the next cycel to see how I go and then maybe see my GP.
