View Full Version : What do we do - January 2009 mummies?
We spend all day chatting feeding, routines and nappies so I got curious and have done a poll.
Do you follow a routine? Do you BF, FF or both? Do you use cloth, sposie or a mix.
I have done all of the above so far and I wonder how everyone else is going.
Poll coming.
(Please note, this isn't a judgement on anyone, I'm just curious xx)

great thead D...was actually talking bout this with friends and family the other day, how much things have changed in years. My family never even knew what an mcn was..hell..neither did i till a year ago
I breastfeed, and express EBM for bottles once in a blue moon for DH to give her.
I only used spozzies in hospital and until she was big enough to use the mcn's - a few weeks.
I don't use a dummy, cause she hates it, but seeing as we threw Stephs out last week I don't really want her to have one anyway.
Routine, I have my sleep routine that helps get her to bed in 20mins, but other than that she is a baby, she dictates to me what goes on.
I have come to realise a baby is just that, and they tell you what to do, we as mothers just have to grin and bare it, after all, we bought them into this world not the other way round.

Attempt to follow a bedtime routine (2 days in a row is the best we have done so far :() other than that - We play it by ear
Disposibles ... Wanted to use MCN's but cant get them over here so stuck with disposibles.. May change at a future date though

thats a bugger you can't get mcn's over there...my MIL wanted me to send a few over to her in Mauritius but she didn't realise they cost just under $30 each then $10 for insert, you need enough for 2 days etc, then postage there.
someone would make a lot of money if they started making them in other countries, or even imported/exported them. That gives me an idea
BF here with the exception of 60mls formula the other night or "Hell night" as I like to call it.
Routine lmao... Well I like to think we have one but Miss Daisy dictates right now.
Sposies here - too many other children & washing in this household for my sanity to cope with cloth. Although my older daughters used cloth & i LOVE hanging the wee little nappies on the line & folding them up..

We tried to get into a routine, it worked on the first day, but went out the window the next day as we had to go out. We do have a night time routine, but that does not always work. I do not like the idea of waking a sleeping baby. If he is asleep he can stay that way for as long as he likes.

me too :D
i really enjoy using them, its not much more work, 2 mins to chuck in the machine, 15 mins to stuff them, if that.
Ive just ordered some more
Breastfeeding here. I do express so DH can give him EBM on the mornings I go to the gym.
I use both cloth & sposies. I have heaps of sposies left over from when I used to make nappy cakes. I wash them for DS1 anyway, so nbot much extra effort.
Routine... only for nighttime so far.
I BF but am happy to express feeds every now and then
I use sposies and wipes(eek) all the time. Find it the easiest way.
We have a sort of routine, but that is the one thing that is really baby led here. If he sleeps I let him sleep, if he wants to feed, he feeds, if he wants to be held he is held...you get the idea!

We tried the BF'ing and lasted for 6wks now on FF full time...
Our routine is no routine, Miss Holly rules the roost at our place. Having said that she normally feeds every 3-4hrs and we have a bit of a play afterward and usually she will just nod off. She is not a baby that just whimpers, she goes from 0-10 on the crying scale in under 10sec so I have found I can not put her down for a nap and try and make her sleep when she doesn't want to.
We use sposies, with all the pooping that we have had going on, I could not even face having to wash nappies. I have found huggies to be the best.

I am doing a mix of BF & FF and plan to do that for as long as possible.
Routine- none here  I'd LOVE a routine but it just doesn't work out for some reason.
I have mcn's but have mostly been using sposies. Once she outgrows the small mcn's I have I'm not going to bother buying any more and will just stick with sposies.
