Lotus Birth

we are doing a lotus brith for our baby this time, just want to know if any other mums out there have done or are planning on it???

for those not sure what it is...... basically it is keeping the placenta and cord attached to baby until in naturally dries and separates from bub.

We had a thread going recently on similar ideas. I don't think there was anyone who contributed that went the whole Lotus birth way but many (moi included) who requested the cord stay intact until the placenta passed and many who also brought their baby's placentas home to bury with a ceremony . I'll try and find a link for you.

After bub is born I would love to hear more about how the lotus birth goes. I think it's a fantastic idea but my DH just isn't that spiritual-yet! Have you made a special bag for the placenta yet?
