Hey girls, we are organising a get together for PCOS women, lunch or dinner.
We talk about anything and everything, it is great to chat to women who are in the same boat whom you can ask questions.
The catch up is on the 4th April at 10.00am.
PM me for details.
It is a girls only catch up.

Hi and welcome,
not a problem we have them usually monthly but I am not sure when the next one will be. I will certainly post when it is on.
I have just completed my first cycle of clomid. How are you feeling on it?
I feel the same still, nothing different really (I wonder if the dose is strong enough only 50mg). I had my final tablet today.........then FS wants to see me on Thursday for U/S not sure what happens after that. FS also wants to do IUI if I O.
How did you feel on clomid? What is the Metformin for? Did your FS ask you to take them. Sorry for alll of the questions .......... I'm still try ing to work this all out.
i didn't manage to get to this one. :( any more planned?
Any advice on pro PCOS treatment doctors in Brisbane? I'm sick of my Dr and now Mater gynecology preferring the non treatment option. just seems silly when you know it can be sorted out!

Wocket - Where abouts are you located? So I can give you a Dr in your area.
Jesse - I am thinking the same about the clomid how do you know if it is the right dose? I have just started my second round.
Where is your FS?
I have had slight headaches come and go but that is about it with the clomid
I go in for US mid cycle also but a lot of women don't.
The metformin is a fertility drug also, it has different results for different women. I found it helped regulated my cycle and that is about it. For other women it helps with hair reduction, weight loss, insulin resistance etc
It makes you pretty sick when you are first on it though.
My Dr gave that to me about 5 years ago and my Endocrinologist increased the dose to 2000mg and she controls that now.
No problems about the questions. Ask away.
thanks for the quick reply! I'm in carina heights (about 20 mins from the CBD). I'm more than happy to travel to a Dr who know's what they're doing!

There is a Dr in the city at least 3 of the girls from our last catch up see. I will grab her details she is in the city.
Chel - My FS is Dr Molloy (QFG), he seems really good. Who is your FS?
I have been slightly dizzy a few morning ..... nothing really.
My FS is doing daily blood tests at the moment, he is open over easter which really suprised me.
What does Endocrinologist do?

My Fs name is Dr Shane Higgins, he is lovely. He is a gynae and ob.
Do you have private health? I am wondering what happens when I fall, I want to go to Royal Bris because I am going public but I dont know how it works with my gynae/ob then cause I want to keep him.
Endocrinologist looks at the Endocrine system, Hormones etc. Mine adjusted my metformin dose. I dont have to go back to her until I am pregnant and then she will work with me and the met during pregnancy. Check hormones etc.
We worked together to get my hormones normalized.
I got the name of that Dr and Must have deleted it because I can't seem to find the details anywhere. I can't believe I did that.
hope you get preggers soon. It's horrid waiting for it to happen.
please PM me when you have the dr's details.
Hi Girls,
I have been offline for a few days, how is everything going? I hope you all had a lovely easter. I had BT everyday over the easter break to see if I was O. The clomid worked which was great. We had our first IUI yesterday (Wednesday). So we have our :fingerscrossed: for the next two weeks till we find out if it worked.
Chel - I have private health insurance, I would like to go to Mater Private. I'm not sure if Dr Molloy would deliver or if I would be referred to another dr once preggs.
Thanks for the info on Endocrinologist. I'm going to ask Doctor Molloy about Met next time I see him.
no no no, don't go to the mater! i was treated horribly there by midwives and nurses. PM me if you want details but almost the entirety of my experience has been bad!
Any news on a good PCOS GP on brissy?

Wocket - Grrr She never got back to me so I am going to email one of the other girls who goes to her. All I know is she is Dr Joe and she is in the city.
Yeah I read your story. I didn't have much fun with the scanning place at the mater when I had my miscarriage.
Jesse -Did you get Private health because of trying or did you have it anyway? There are just so many out there I am not sure what is best.
So when you have your FS appointments do you get much back from private health?
Wocket - sounds like you had a terrible time at Mater I will PM you to find out more.
Chel - I have always had private health insurance (MBF), we don't get anything back for appointments only if you are in hospital. Sometimes I wonder if it is all worth it, but DH wants us to have it.

Jesse - I haven't had any problems with either cycle of the clomid. I am almost in the 2WW It has taken a bit longer to get my pos on the OPK which I find strange because my Gynae said the follicles were better developed than last time at the same time in my cycle.
I have been having really bad O pain this cycle too, I get it for days leading up to O and have had it for almost a week. This time I am getting it on both sides. the Gynae said I had 2 good size follies one on both sides. I am thinking I am ovulating both sides this time so fingers crossed at least one of them gets fertilised.
I played netball on Tuesday and when I jumped and stretched I would feel the pain with the strain on that area, I am getting it when I bend over too.
When I was pregnant the first time I never had any signs of pregnancy and only tested because I was drinking that night, I was 5 weeks pregnant. So I wouldn't worry about signs. I dont think about it all that much, I have got myself to a point where I am very relaxed and I dont get my hopes up that I am pregnant nor do I look for any signs. I can also make an excuse for every possible symptom I have. I am positive it will happen eventually and each month I am not preg that is fine we will just try again.
