Hi,

I'd like to get a sling for my new arrival, (due in July) as I can see I will most definetly have my hands full dealing with two.

I used a home made sling, (from the mamaroo pattern) which worked well with DD, but was very cumbersome and hung too low, so ended up switching to a bog standard carrier.

So what I'm looking for is
a) easy to put on and take off
b) sits up high on the body and close to the chest (not flopping around my tummy)
c) comfy for mum and bub and not too pricey.

any suggestions?

Check these out

http://www.hugabug.com/

I havent used one personally (but will when we have bub no.2:D ) but know people who have and they rave about them.

Also if you buy them from www.anewblessing.com.au they have 15% off the hug-a-bug slings at the moment AND if you mention Bubhub you get an extra 10% off plus free postage Bargain.

They are usually around $110 but my friend got hers for $80 from a new blessing:thumbsup:

I love my maya wrap! I got mine from the 'specials' section for $38! It was great for my third baby as there is only 11 months between #2 and #3. I really don't think I could have survived without it! I love it cos you can use it in all different positions and also for older babies/children. It is fashionable too - most people think I am just wearing a colourful scarf! My babies have slept in it well too, great for those early days where they just wanna be close to mum or they have colic issues!

The pouch form is great too and less bulky ... I chose the wrap because I love that you can adjust it however as slightly to just suit you and bub and also the extra material in the wrap is wonderful for sun/wind/rain protection and for a breastfeeding sheild... you can walk and bfeed with it too!

Ok I have sold it enough methinks! Here is the web addy http://www.mayawrap.com/

No problems Queen  Glad to have been helpful:D

OH and I just checked out the maya wrap site and they have the most gorgeous poncho for winter....thinking of getting one they look soooo cozy and warm!

Also they have cute little doll slings so your child can wear their dolly! How adorable!!!

I really like my ellaroo wrap but it was a bit pricey (I think it was worth it though!). It sounds a bit like the maya wrap - I think it's better value in the long run to get one you can use in lots of different postitions and at different ages. :)

Thanks for the feedback guys,

I'm leaning towards the Maya pouch, I think I've seen someone wearing (their baby in) one before.

The hugabub is fairly similar to the one I made, but I never tried wearing it in wrap mode.

Thanks:thumbsup:
