Mel I am glad you asked this, I was wondering the same thing, I am only getting a little bit each day, but soooooo annnoying, I hate wearing pads, I had to put nappy rash cream on yesterday cos of the rubbing, sorry TMI.
I'm having the same issue as all you ladies!! The standard time is anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks, I think. Lucky me usually gets the whole 6 weeks, but I have known people to stop bleeding after only two.
Hang in there - it shouldn't be too much longer!!
Gee I must have been lucky then. I was competely done in under two weeks
Mine seems to have slowed alot after 12 days. I hate hate pads too. I have taken to wearing a "active" pad type thing that I bought for waters breaking and leaking. Think I will move to a panty liner tomorrow.
Much more comfortable.
Think I am a lucky one too. Would drive me mental to have a pad for 6 weeks!

well, now I feel really ripped off! I had it for 8 weeks with DD and DS1 and I'm expecting the same as it's still quite heavy now at 4 weeks:rolleyes:

It varies from person to person. Anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks is 'normal' - although 8 weeks is getting on a bit, so if it lasted for longer than that, you should probably check it out with your GP.
Most women find that it slows down toward the end, but they can start bleeding again if they do a lot of physical activity. It's nature's way of reminding us to take it easy postnatally :)
I went for 3 and a bit weeks, glad it didnt go on longer cause i hate wearing pads they are grose!
