just a quick q

i was sitting there breastfeeding and was staring round the room...then i thought, why don't i keep a book in here to read.

so, what does everyone else do when they are feeding? And do you do the same thing for night feeds too?

Angel - what are you doing still awake at this hour!:p

I read during the day or sometimes chat to the boys...depends what they are up to.

At night I try not to wake up too much cos then it is hard to get back to sleep. SO I end up doing what you just did, stare around the room and drink my water.

Hard to do anything really other than sit and feed. Though on the odd occasion I can type and feed, eat and feed and, once even, remove someone to their bedroom for time out and feed!

I prefer to sit and read while feeding though.

Sit and browse the net, usually starting with bubhub.

At night I place a pillow over my lap and feed that way, it is really comfortable although terrible technique.

I can only comfortable feed lying down so I read, listen to a soft radio or watch a little TV (vry very programs worth watching, arn't there?)

Perhaps we should start a breastfeeding book club?

I usually watch telly, and gaze around the room at all the housework that needs to be done when I eventually get 5 mins, I swear each time I feed, the dust gets thicker, and the shelves get even more cluttered. The other night I rearranged the book shelf so that everything looked better (only in my head though).

I do a bit of everything - read, telly, txt, talk on the phone, browse the net during the day. At night I try and keep things quiet and calm.. So mostly just sit there and softly talk to bub... Or just think.... Thinking too much at times...

You are all my heros. 10 weeks into my breastfeeding experience i still have not mastered the art of turning the pages of a book while feeding. I stare at the wall a lot, but i will admit it is usually when i do my best thinking so i can't really complain.

my chair is in the loungeroom, so I usually watch tv... god, i'd rather stare at the walls than watch Ready Steady Cook again... blergh...

Browse the net during the day... at night I watch tv. Really hate those 'paid presentations', but last night was lucky enough to watch an episode of Ellen.

I guess I'm lucky in the fact that we got Foxtel put on a few months ago. At least I have a variety of shows to choose from

I often have to re-attach Daisy a few times toward the end of her feed to try & coax her to have some more. She is just so darn impatient !!! 4-5mins & she's done & can't be bothered working at it anymore. So reading a book or doing anything really isnt worth is as I'm only sitting down for a few mins then I'm up & off to the next project

I wish I could master bfeeding lying down, but bub falls off a fair amount and I have flattish nipples so it is hard for him to 'root' and find. So we both end up getting frustrated.

Feeding at the comp is easy ! I pile a pillow under his butt, and use the opposite hand to support his (very heavy!) head. That leaves me 1 hand free to browse :) replying to posts is harder....

During the day I watch TV or read. I actually love it when bub is due for a feed around 7 or 8pm because it gives me an excuse to sit on my butt and watch the shows I usually miss because I would be showering the older kids :p Now DH has to do it on his own!!

At nighttime I sit in bed and play games on my iPod! I discovered this with DD2. Mostly solitaire because I can play it one-handed. Makes all those night feeds much more bearable.

Well with the first breastfeed of the morning I pump one side while she feeds from the other side. No hands to do anything except watch the morning news.

During the day I'm usually trying to occupy my son by reading a book or helping him build a railway track (very hard with one hand!!).

Then at night I don't get out of bed so it's too dark to do anything, and I don't really want to wake myself up too much.

Luckily for me she's not a long feeder so we're done and dusted pretty quickly. :yelclap:

I watch TV, "play" facebook and browse Bubhub ....

Or I play with DS and feed

At night - I lay on my side in bed and feed - that way i dont really have to wake up

The other day I was SO SO proud of myself - I was even able to go and re-fill my water glass while feeding.

BUT - Just to make you all jealous !

On weekends - I take DD and go for a foot massage.. So yep - I breastfeed while having a foot massage in a big nice recliner  Ahhhh.... there is some good things living in China. (it only cost me $14 too)

Or though my favourite is to just look at her and rub her ear and play with her hair and think about how damn clever I am at making such a beautiful little princess (altogether now ... AWWWWW!!)
