So I guess I need to start thinking about birth control, I do believe I am rather limited given that I am bfeeding.
Anyone feel like sharing what they decided to use and how they find it?

Sorry I can't help you there. I am allergic to birth control so at the moment we are using the abstinence method. Works a treat!

I just got a script for the mini pill yesterday. I want to start it fairly soon as it when I stopped the pill when trying to conceive I was pregnant within a month! So birth control is important for me

probably the minipill, but midwives were talking about the mirena--i just dont know about it..it has to be inserted and removed..the pill seems slightly less invasive (if thats the right word)
so yea prolly the minipill :)

I will get Mirena again, had it in before we started ttcing...I find it brilliant
NO periods it was wonderful, period was back within a week of it coming out
I have heard the Mirena is fantastic, but can impede fertility returning straight away after removal?
Hi ,
I went to the GP for our 6 week checkup this morning. As I am bottle feeding I am able just to go back onto the normal pill. We haven't been sexually active since the birth and I have not yet had my period, so started taking the pill in the active (red) section today. I am not covered contraceptive wise for 2 weeks, but my period should come in 28 days or so. I was quite enjoying not getting it, LOL
And we are also looking at TTC next January :)
Just looking back over the previous posts. This Mirena thing sounds interesting, I might look into doing that after we have our next baby (fingers crossed). I love the idea of NO periods!!

nah not at all, I have four friends that fell pregnant within 3 months of having it removed, I took 10 but DH does shift work!!!
the reason its better than implanon as the pill part of it doesnt go through your blood stream just into womb area, so the moment its in its effective and the moment its out its ineffective as you dont have residual chemical going through your blood. or thats how I understand it.
Check out the website
I love the idea of NO periods!! dont get too attached to it cause some people just get light ones, some people get normal ones and some very very few people get heavier ones, but most get none or next to none
I got none, and only got a light period twice in times of high stress (in hospital..)
I had my tubes tied during the c section so don't have to worry about it anymore thank goodness. I was absolutely hopeless with the normal pill. Could never remember to take it so the mini pill was even worse as you are supposed to take it at the same time every day for it to be effective.
Mirena sounds good. Although wouldnt it be lovely if we could just flick a switch.
Ummmm Yep I'm ready for a baby now FLIIIICK !!!!!

do you have to go into hospital to have the mirena inserted??
how much does it cost in comparison to the pill?

Not sure about contraception yet - going to have a think about it before my 6 week check. Might consider the Mirena too.

I got the mirena put in when I lived in VIC but it only cost me $75 for the prescription and the insertion (I was even put under) was free...
I had mine done at a family planning clinic but you can just have them put in by a GP who specialises in Mirena insertion..

HAHAHA!!! Thats funny Bex only because that is what I have been doing. I said to my DH that the contraception thing is up to him this time and he hasnt done anything about it yet so if something happens its all his fault:yes:
At this point DH and I are still trying to make up our minds if we want any more kids or not. If not, DH will most likely get a vasectomy [I figure I've done all the preg/birthing, he can do something for once!]. We'll probably just stick to condoms until we make up our minds.
Although, I might look up the Mirena and see what that's all about because I definitely don't want anymore surprises ...
Im going to go back onto the pill but am waiting till my period returns. Im liking not having it also.

Thats what we would have done had i not had a c section, it was either i got it done during a c sect or he got it done if i had a VB
