View Full Version : VALCO - RAD **new pram model**
I had read on an old post that VALCO were going to bring out a new model of pram similar to the Bugaboo, Childcare Infinity & the Bertini Mio.
I was dead set that I was going to get a Bugaboo or the Infinity, however now Im looking at the RAD.
Has anyone actually got one of these or have you tried them out in the stores??
Any comments or feed back would be fantastic.

I don't know about the Valco, what I can say is the Bertini Mio is a death trap. I had it and returned it. Many ppl had the same prob as me (wheel falls off as you are pushing pram! )
I reported it to recalls who are investigating it. I believe baby stores no longer wat to sell the Mio bc of all the problems, so IGC has relabelled the same pram as Childcare Infinity. They look EXACTLY the same!
I was lucky enough that after 3 weeks of fighting i got my money back. Don't touch those 2 prams.
I now have the Bugaboo and I'm very happy with it so far (3 weeks only, but the Bertini had already lost a wheel once by this time!)
I recommend looking at reviews on the web before buying it. I learnt the hard way not to be one of the first to buy a particular pram.
Good luck.

Hmmm i think that those 3 are all pretty similiar, just the price difference.
How much is it?
I think the valco is around $600, i saw that one 2 online baby sites.
Im loving the bugaboo (my mums buying the pram for us, so not sure of her budget??) hah i might get her to go halves in the bugaboo :smiliedance:

I have the Childcare Infinity and I think it's fantastic. It so easy to push, and I like the fact theat bubs can face you. My bubs is 4months now
They still sell the Bertini, they do look similar but aren't exactly the same. I was told by the shop assistant that the infinity was the best one aside from bugaboo, and didn't recommend Bertini. And that one was at least $300 more. The Valco one wasn't out yet, but it looks like it it would have the same features. I think the Infinity ended up costing us about $700 cause we bought the bassinette.

We bought a Valco RAD after a lot of difficulty in finding a pram that would collapse down low to fit in our car boot. I highly recommend purchasing one or at least check them out as they fit through normal isles at the supermarket, are great to manouvre and are light, easy to collapse and we didn't bother with the basinette attachment as it folds back to almost flat and our 8 week old daughter has no problems lying in it... the seat is also reversible so the baby can look at you or to the front and the adjustable handle it great as my partner is quite tall. Only prob I suppose is that you cant attach a toddler seat to it... good luck!

Hi all, I'm new, but wanted to say that we spent a good couple of hours looking at Prams on the weekend and LOVED the Valco Rad. The main advantage was the adjustable handles. Most don't go anywhere near that high and since my husband and I are both over 6' that was awesome. It also looks great. My other fav was the Stokke, which is a bit strange looking right now, but amazing to push around. Totally out of our price range though, so we'll stick with the Valco I think. We haven't bought it yet, because I wanted to check reviews today, although it's probably too new because not many people have one.
hi there,
We tested and tried the new RAD in the store and have laybyed one due to loving the lightness and also the fact that we can have bub facing us or the other way and its small and compact to fold. ..with or without the seat in the frame so that it doesnt get dirty in the boot.
We went through 3 prams with my now 2.5yr old, including a 3 wheeler which i didnt really find that convenient due to wheel size and tyres going flat. The other was a pram with reversible handle and 4 double wheels, hard to steer and had a mind of its own....and now a small stroller just for shopping. This one is all in one except for a toddler seat with i didnt end up wanting as DS will be almost 3 and he can use the pram and i can use the sling for my NB if i go out on my own.
Im actually paying half price for it as its a seconds from the factory $299 only due to a few scratches.
Im in the hunter valley NSW if anyone wants the name of the store.
