Questions about early miscarriage

I just have a few questions, hoping that someone can help with. I did 2 HPTs after my AF was 3 days late. Both 1st response. 1 at 3 days late + one at 5 days late +. This put me at 13 and 15DPO. At 17DPO I started spotting and that night cramping, bleeding got worse and is still going though a little lighter (now bleeding 4 days) its very similar to AF but more cramps at start, heavier and clotty (sorry tmi)
So I am assuming given the + HPT I am/was miscarrying. I was overseas until today so did not have the pregnancy confirmed by BT and have not seen doc yet - booked in tomorrow.

Anyway I assume that I will not need D&C as very early (4.5weeks). I do not know alot about m/c is this now classified as CD1 the first day of bleeding or something different? Will I ovulate as per normal or will it be delayed? Should I wait a cycle to TTC again?
Any info would be greatful.

Hi. I'm sorry to hear your news as it is so hard to have this after seeing the two lines on your BFP.

In my experience I m/c at 5 1/2 weeks. For me it was heavier than my usual AF with more clots than usual and more cramps as well.

You are right, as it was early you shouldn't need a d&c, but if the bleeding continues for too long or the cramps do, then I would get it checked out just in case.

For me, I waited a full cycle before trying again, but that was more for emotional reasons rather than physical. ( I had already been TTC for over a year at that stage). Also, for me my next cycle was only slightly longer than usual.

I just re-read and saw that you have booked to see your doctor. If you are concerned you can ask for a BT to check your blood levels, but your GP may not think this is needed.

In all, I would say that just take it easy and look after yourself. I hope your next one is a sticky for you!! :hugs:
