Hi Everyone

Hubby and I are looking at getting a capsule for bubs number 2 due in October. We went looking at them today and are tossing up between the Safe'n'Sound standard capsule and their Unity Baby Carrier. Has anyone bought/used the Unity? The girl in the shop said it doesn't tend to last as long as it is smaller then the standard one and it's also a bit heavier too. However it does seem a bit cushier. Any suggestions?

Thanks guys

Hmm... I was looking at the unity as well when I was pg with DS.
We shopped around for it and when we went to buy it, the shop assistant recommended the Babylove one.
I believe Unity isn't as well made for impact protection as Babylove.

I was extremely unsure about it bc i had it set in my mind that we would have the Unity. But we tried the BabyLove capsule and I loved it.
I had a pretty big baby (just under 4kgs) and we used the capsule up to 4 months (he was very tall too.. born 54cm) so he did out grow it quick. But we got lots of use out of it and it actually has 6 different uses, including as a rocker.

We actually sold it on ebay and got $150 for it (which is quite good since we bought it for about $200). It was in very good condition and the ppl who bought have contacted to say how much they love it too.

That's my opinion.
Good luck!

I have used the Unity capsule and loved it my friend had them for her twins too. I have also used the babylove one a few times and liked the Safe n Sound one heaps better. alot easier to carry i think.

I have the unity and its brilliant, DD was a small newborn (came home weighing 2.1kg after losing .5kg at birth) but quickly grew to a hefty sized bub lol almost 9kgs at 8 months (which is above the 75th percentile for weight and her length was the same..) and she was still in the capsule until about 8.5 months!

With DS I used the babylove primo and the safensound old type of capsule and theres no way I'd use the old type again! The primo is good but I feel the unity is muchhh safer and comfier for bubs and I had a really hard time cleaning the primo! The primo's are cheaper however and don't HAVE to have the base with them so easy if you're switching cars a lot!

Is there any capsual that you can buy that will fit into a double pram of some kind?

I am due for bub #2 in december but like to get a head in planning my finances.....When i had bub #1 i was constantly waking him by taking him out of his car seat and into a pram and i thought it would be good if i could get a capsual for #2 so it doesnt happen again-one that goes directly into a pram.
Trouble is bub #1 is only going to be 2 (or not quite) when #2 is due and still likes to be in a pram for shopping etc so i need one that can go in a double if possible.

the valco runabout twin is not MADE to go with the unity capsule but the capsule fits in nice and snuggly and I used this when DD was a newborn quite a few times and will be doing the same again when DD2 is born :)
