Hi,
Firstly let me introduce myself,my husband and I in partnership with his brother run approx. fifteen thousand arces in SE QLD. We have irrigation country for cropping and run cattle. We also breed Simmental Bulls. We have two little girls and are expecting our third baby in early July.

I was just wondering what other people on properties use in the way of financial software? Do you use something off the shelf? MYOB? or a special ag business style of system?
I have just updated our computer system and though am hopeless with the accounts ( DH does most of the 'hard" stuff, I just do the cheques, letters etc,) I would us like to be more aware of where the money goes etc. and just be more effient in general.
If you do use something how much did it cost? and did you do some training?

I am looking forward to hearing your experiences.:detective:

Hi:wave:
Just wanted to say hello to another farm mum.
We are down in the NSW riverina on about 8000ac. We run sheep/beef cattle on dryland and "try" to grow wheat and canola(won't bl##dy rain):p
The simmental bulls are what we use here for breeding.
We have 2 boys and expecting our third in September.
As for the farm books, we are in partnership wth DH's parents so currently going through the transition of me doing the books. I know they use Agrimaster as their program, not sure how much and what training is needed.
So not much help with the question about books/accounting.
Was just excited to see some movement in this section of the forum:laughing:

Hi  I am on a farm in WA and we use Agrimaster. It is very simple to use and you can organise training from them. They do online courses and web seminars to make life easier (not sure what these are like as I have never done one). I'm not too sure how easier the set up is as I did not do mine.

Please ask if you have any more questions!

Well Agrimaster looks ( i checked out their website) and sounds very practical. Thanks girls! Now I just need to convice Hubby ( tighest man in the world!) that we need something like that.
I know what you mean Mitake, re: not much action on the rural thread, but we all know how busy us farm girls can be! :rolleyes:I have been browsing around here a bit lately as the heat and tiredness have really hit me third time around, it's a nice bludge while DD2 is asleep and DD1 is at Kindy!
I could class it as networking though...and let you know if you need a Simmental Bull.....!Ha Ha!
We breed about 40 a year for sale and sell alot off farm, at a sale in Northern NSW and a our big sale in western QLD every year.
We were the opposite with our wheat, we don't do much cropping, just a bit recently, and had a great crop of wheat at the end of last year, which was ruined becasue of rain....no rain for months and the week we went to harvest, it just poured and poured. :gloomy:
anyway thanks for the info girls and i hope we can see a bit more action on this page;)
