View Full Version : Very bad timing
Hi everyone
I am very frustrated and just need to talk. DF and i have been ttc for a few months now and we are not having much luck. DF works 12 hour shifts at his work 5 days on and 5 days off. And over the past few months every time i OV is during his 5 days on! I am curently at CD14 and just did the OV test and got a really strong line and guess what DF is only just started his 5 days on! There is no time for BD because the 1 hour a day i see him for the 5 days DS is awake. This is going to be a long trot i cam see it now :banghead:
Thanks for listening guys i feel a bit better :o

I was going to say the same as nuddle,my dh works 12 hour shifts 4 on 4 off and we try and get some time in between all of that and the 4 kids. I know that it is hard but good luck...
sweetpea I feel bad for complaning now, i Only have 1, you have 4!!!! My hat is off to you
Does anyone know when you do the ov test what is the time frame to BD in (DF last night at work for the 5 days is Monday) If that makes any sense at all. Or do you think we should just wait until next month?

Hey liah don't feel bad,it's just a case of timing and if the kids are willing to occupy themselves iykwim..... I think from when you get the positive on the opk from what i have read the egg is released anywhere from 12 to 48 hours after that......correct me if i am wrong ladies?
Liah,
I know how you feel...
My DF works full-time afternoon shift (1400-2400), Monday and Friday, and is now temporarily working a 12 hour shift on Saturday nights as well (1800-0600)... so that means he is now at work every day of the week. On top of this, he is at TAFE doing a full-time course as well which means he gone from 8am every Mon, Tues and Thurs.
So as you can see, that leaves me only a couple of hours on a couple of days of week for me to see him. Now lets factor into this equation that I also work full-time night shift (2130-0730)...
There is no hope for us... ;)
no harm in trying MOnday I say, you never know, might have a fast swimmer, that can catch that egg on its way out, and give you a little boy....thats how my son was conceived lol
Without going into TMI we were able to sneak one in this morning so :smiliedance: i'll :fingerscrossed: but am not going to get my hopes up.
Thanks guys for all the :hugs: Its nice to know im not the only deprived one LOL
:fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: yeeehaa, :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:
