close to 2 years!.. had one miscarrage in that time.. and after that took another 8 months to get pregnant.. i was convinced i couldnt have babies:( and didnt get over my m/c until i fell pregnant again.. it can be sooo hard to get pregnant and playing the waiting game it feels like it takes over your life.. its so hard when you are a few days late and u think is this it.. and everytime u go to the toilet and dont see a period u get your hopes up.. and then it comes.. its so hard on a women i think.. try not to worry to much.. i think its all about the right timing.. and when its meant to be it will happen.. in the mean time its alot of fun trying! hehe.... goodluck!! ;) :hugs:

Married then 2 long months later pregnant with first child.
I was unwell for a while after she was born and was unable to hold a pregnancy.
After a thyroidectomy I fell preg with my 2nd straight away.
Soon after weaning my 2nd baby I was pregnant with my last baby.

Some ppl are very fertile, some ppl not.

My boss and his wife spent 6 years TTC and he announced she was pregnant the same day I found out I was - I left it a few weeks until I told him I was and then did not tell him it only took 20 minutes for us :o just lucky I guess, I was told it would be difficult for me and it wasn't :D

good luck :fingerscrossed:

It took us nearly 2 years. It was a really hard time, even though I know that for some couples it's even harder. The next person who told me to "just relax" was going to get hit over the head with something heavy :banghead: I had the usual run of medical tests and all they came up with was "Idiopathic Infertility" - infertile but we don't know why.

Then someone told me about Jason Jackson (http://www.naturopathic.net.au/), a naturopath here in Brisbane, who specialises in fertility and women's health. We were with him for only 3 cycles when we conceived our little baby girl. It might have just been coincidence, but I honestly believe that she wouldn't be here were it not for Jason

Good Luck to you! :fingerscrossed:

Ditto about the disappointed hubby.
First one took about 3 weeks.
Second hit the target on first attempt!
DH very proud (they don't come much more competitive than him! )

I think you can see why I choose abstanence as my choice of protection!

LOL  I also felt like doing serious bodily harm to the "just relax" people!!

We were also diagnosed with "Unexplained Infertility" (although how that can be a diagnosis, I don't know!! It's more like the Dr's all just gave up!)

I'm 22 and it actually took almost a year, I was very surprised by this as I automatically presumed that as soon as we stopped using contraception I would fall preggy (this seems to be a misconception that I have found a lot of my friends have too, perhaps due to sex education scaring us into believing that the instant we didn't use a condom we would be pregnant:p )

Almost the same here, been off the pill for 4 cycles now, this is the 5th TTC#1. Luckily my cycles are only 30-35 days...

It's amazing (and somewhat depressing from where I'm standing ;)) how many of you concieved in the first month. I was hoping you'd all say it took 5 months, and then I'd feel very hopeful about this month :p

Tell me about it!! By the time the second year started I was feeling like I was playing a game and that someone had moved the goal posts and not told me.

As a teenager it's hammered into you: Always use contraception, there is no 'safe' time....blah blah blah. You spend so much energy NOT getting pregnant, that when you finally make the huge decision to have a baby....

All of a sudden it turns out that, oh sorry! The rules have changed. It's actually hard to get pregnant. There's like only 2 or 3 days a month that you are fertile.

Add to that all the "helpful" advice and the good old "oh you just need to relax. Stop thinking about it"... it sent me right round the bend a few times.

First I would like to apologize to everyone who is having problems conceiving.
I think about falling pregnant and pop.
DS 1 one month.
DS 2 one month
DS 3 SURPRISE
DD 1 two months.

I think DD took longer as I came off the pill the DS's I wasn't using any contraceptives, purely relying on condoms.

Hi,

With first daughter, I fell pregnant first time.

This time it took two months, i think it would of taken alot longer if I weren't aware of my ovulation cycle. That really works!!

Thanks! We had a change of heart with the wedding, we didn't want to plan our ttc around one day so we changed it! Oh well! I am so excited right now.. thanks everyone! I guess the relaxed approach to ttc worked for me:D
