 Hi, I just have a question about Infants Friend. I have started using it today to relieve baby's wind/tummy pains. :(

He is 6 weeks old today and is just over 5 kilos. I've started out by putting 10 drops into his bottle when I give it to him.

I have been using Infacol drops for the last two weeks but he has been in a fair bit of pain over the last couple of days, so thought I would try something else.

I tried Gripe Water last week but he vomited that up, so didn't try it again.

I guess my question is: do I still continue to use the Infacol drops as well as the Infants Friend. Or should I just use the Infants Friend only?

Thanks for your time ladies :)

I havent really used infants friend so not sure what its meant to do but with the infacol I know that is meant to make all the little bubbles of wind in his tummy all join together into a big one so the wind is easier to bring up & hopefully stopping wind pains later.
Does infants friend do the same thing? Or does it just relieve the pain once they have it? If they are doing the same thing I'd probably stick with just the one but if infants friend treats the symptons. I'd go with both to cover all your bases. Then again.. I'm no expert, just my two cents worth..

Hope the poor little fella gets some relief soon.. Its horrible when they are in pain & you can't help them :hugs:

Hi Shell, the Infants Friend is supposed to relieve the pain and like you said the Infacol works at making the wind easier to pass. Which is why I thought that I probably could use both, because they do different things :) Just don't want to overdose him on stuff that I shouldn't be

Thanks, Sheree x

I would ask the chemist to be sure...

I foudn the brauer's one works quite well (and its natural) but you have to administer it every half hour.

Hi ,
I had to go to the chemist today to get my prescription for "the pill", so asked about the Infants Friend vs Infacol dilemma. :D

The pharmacist advised that both products do the same thing, so use one or the other.

Consequently I have put the Infacol in the cupboard and will continue to use the Infants Friend only. I find it a great tonic in helping to calm him down for sleep!
