Hi I am pregnant with my second bub due in November.
DD came 11 weeks early, with no reason known.
How many people out there have had one premmie but haven't had anything like HELLP, pre-ecl or eclempsia, ect and have you gone on to have a full term baby?
Also I am going throught the public system, Royal Brisbane, what extra care do they give for someone who has had a previous prem?

sorry I don't have any info about how royal womans deal with previous premmie births, as iv'e never birth there
but I have had premmie births, for no reason (my waters just spontaniously break), and I have made it to term (39wks) with my second, and with my last bub, I just about made it to term (just over 35wks) :smiliedance:
so it is possible that you will get further along with this pregnancy, :fingerscrossed: you get to at least 37wks

Thank you. My waters also just broke early, so it is good news that it may not happen again.:)

yip, it definatly may not happen again, and :fingerscrossed: that is the case
DS1 was born super early due to waters breaking, and DS2, well I had to have my waters broken for me during labour at 39wks , typical lol, the whole pregnancy I was stressing out cause I thought my waters had sprung a leak quite a few times, and was worried they were going to fully break before term, but they didn't
my DS3 was early due to waters breaking as well, and the same with DD,

Yes, gonna have to try not to stress, can imagine every trickle iykwim I'm gonna think this is it....hope the old bladder is gonna hold out for me, save some embarrassment:laughing:
Your asking all the questions I have been wondering. My waters spontaneously broke at 32 weeks with my DD. No investigations were made into what caused it I just kept getting told "it happens sometimes" (I was public at the royal brisbane too). When I was pregnant the second time the dr told me that the hospital would look at it when I had my booking in visit but I never got that far . I would be interested to know how you go and if they class you as at risk or not. Good luck :fingerscrossed:

I have had 2 full term bubs and now a premmie. My waters broke at 33weeks and bub arrived a few days later with a number of drugs stopping things for a couple of days.
Not sure what they will do at the Royal Womens as haven't had a bub there.

Hi Issabee
Since posting I have spoken to the RBWH and explained what happened last time.
They have sped up the process for me and asked me to get in for my NF scan at 11 weeks then booking in at 12 weeks and ob on the same day. This is to determine if I need the cervical stitch.
Before I found out I was pregnant with DD1 I had a scan to see if any problems could be seen as I was trying to concieve for over a year. But then I fell pregnant a week later.
I still took the scan in with me to the hospital as it found I have a arcuate to subseptate uterus. They said it posed no problem but now I have looked into it it is a cause of preterm labour. I only found out yesterday.
I am pretty worried as it is also a cause of miscarriage in a lot of cases if you believe whats on the net.
They class anyone with a premature baby as high risk as far as I know but you have to call them rather than just send the forms off and wait for the appointment letter.
Good luck

Hi Myto0girls
I have found out they are very helpful and have gotten me into the ob very early this time.
They consider it to be a high risk pregnancy so I will get good care by the looks of it.
Thanks for letting me know Tamarasmum. I will be sure to ring early next time! PM me and let me know how your pregnancy goes. Good luck, will :fingerscrossed: for you.
