We're coming up to the Gold Coast in Sept for a two week vacation.
Can anyone suggest accomodation for a family of 9 that won't break the bank, self contained, walking distance of everything ie beach & shops.
Would anyone be interested in a house swap ?
We would also like to visit some them parks mainly SeaWorld and Movie World but it is expensive so are there any vouchers or ways to get discounts outside of RACV deals.
If anyone would like to meet me whilst we're up that would be fab too. :D
Thanking you in advance for any info.
I've been thinking about this and I'll PM you what I've come up with in regards to places to stay. Having so many people makes it rather difficult!
In regards to tickets to parks there are places all over the coast that sell discounted tickets but from what I've seen the RACV deal is better anyway. The only way to get cheaper than that is to use the shop-a-dockets that sometimes come up, but I think they stipulate that you need to be a QLD resident with proof.
Others may know of a better deal.

Thankyou :hugs: Yes having a large family can be a logistical nightmare at times. Another BH mum and her family are heading up there too so wondering if maybe we can't get a group discount booking or something. Just tired of searching through accomodation listings, I just want and need a holiday !! :p
try this one

we stayed there a few years ago, was right on the beach, walking distance to shops, has everything you need to cook and washers and dryers for clothes, we found it nice and cosy:)
im SURE they can do much better on their price.
(we got accomodaton for $220 a week -eek, maybe 4 or 5 years ago now- there participated in a special accom deal. so push for a better price!)
Oooooh!:smiliedance::smiliedance:
I would like to meet you!:o
In fact, I would be honored to meet you!
As for accommodation, I don't have a clue. There is magic mountain and the paradise island resort that are family friendly but that's all I can really think of and I have no idea of the price range.
The only deals I know of for theme parks are for QLD residents only.. So can't you there either.

Hi Punky
What ages are everyone in your family?
Kids aged 3-13 get cheaper tickets.
There are a few different passes you can get on the myfun.com.au website. There's the "escape pass" that gives entry to 2 parks over three days.
They actually have a cheap pass for qld residents ATM that gives unlimited entry until 30th june, but you have to show id and they take your photo on first visit.

Thankyou for that site  I'll check it out as so far three theme parks for half of us is already $1000  Trying to talk everyone into going up to one of the WhitSunday islands but they are all set on Theme Parks :crying:
I have a friend we could stay with but just won't be a real holiday for me then as I will be constantly tidying and cleaning because it's her house.
