:(
When I was little I had asthma (I remember the football thing, I think it's a spacer) but it went away, apparently I 'grew out' of it.

Anyway, on cold mornings of winter I'll find myself a bit wheezie in my chest and I'll borrow husband's asthma puffer and I'm okay, this only happens once or twice a winter.

For the 4th consequtive morning I've woken up wheezing today. Normally I can roll over and it's gone, but this morning I'd roll over, then wake up an hour later and I'm still wheezy. It happened earlier along as well and it's been off and on but I forget to mention it to the midwives or anything.

Should I be concerned? once as I'm up I'm not wheezie, and I don't bother having a puffer because I don't want to take it if it'll affect Nugget's time in the womb.

Should I actually be making an appointment at a doctor rather than asking on an online forum? I just got to the point where I'm getting a bit worried about it. :(

maybe you should speak to your doctor:yes:
it could be the colder weather and nugget squashing your lungs, perhaps when she drops, you'll find it goes away;)

Ventolin is a pregnancy category C - it has been shown to cause defects (ie cleft palates primarily) in developing foetuses. (see link: http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic3/ventolin_inh_wcp.htm)

Given that you're in your third trimester, most of what is left is growth, not development - but I would still advise you to go see your GP at least, ASAP.

Good luck, sweetie, :hugs: hopefully it'll just be your lungs compressed up to the wah-zoo because Nugget is getting a bit too big!

Okay, just googled, and found this other link: http://www.nevdgp.org.au/info/lungf/asthma-pregnancy-health.html
That says that ventolin and other anti-bronchial spasmodics are perfectly safe to use in pregnancy. So I'm confused!

See your doctor!

Hi im a chronic ashmatic so i take the puffer when I need it I also take preventative and have been since I got pregnant! i have been assured they are ok to take in pregnancy but u definatly need to see ur doc! I had an asthma attack last week and have just got out of hospital thank goodness i went in cause they found a blood clot in my lung but just weezing dosnt cause a blood clot so dont b alarmed.

Ur better off going and asking to see and asthma specialist, mayb u need to get a preventative or b monitered cause if u cant breathe properly neither can ur bubba! also just a little fact: they use ventoin to stop labour! so I know its safe! Go see ur GP!

Im with shinebrite - go to gp - im an asthmatic too and it has been especially bad lately. When you go to gp they may even let you know if they have monthly visiting specialists you can see.

Go to the doctor!
