I have been hounded into having a baby shower  So to combat having to play the usual games etc I have agreed to a simple lunch at a cafe or resturant.

So now I have to find somewhere that will have 30 odd women for lunch, that is around the Brisbane area - so either City or Inner Northern Suburbs.

Any ideas ?? I looked into high teas etc but at $35 a head it's just too much for a finger sandwich.

TIA

Hey I am having the same problem- I know that there is a really good little cupcake shop in South Bank called mysweetopia.

I was originally thinking of having mine there but my sister, who is organising the baby shower, wants the venue to be a little more private so she can force me to endure all the belly measuring, labor length/ pain guessing games :)

BUT it might be just right for you. The menu is simple- coffee and cupcakes and it is low key but still nice.

here is the web link :

Wow - that sweetopia place looks lovely!:)

If you like high tea I would highly recommend City Gardens Cafe at the City Botanic Gardens. At $28.50 pp (including a glass of champers) it's also great value, the food is plentiful and it's not as crowded or commercial as some the hotel high teas in the city. The cafe itself is in a gorgeous little converted workmans cottage in the middle of the gardens. I love the place - we are having a baby's baptism brunch there in 2 weeks time.

Traditional High Tea Available between 9:00am – 11:00 & 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Assorted petite sandwiches, Selection of mini quiches, Savoury risotto balls filled with mozzarella cheese, Scones, Petite patty cakes Sweet slice
