does anyone have a recipe for this made from scratch?

I've got some lovely leeks and potatoes but now can't find a recipe. I thought I saw one on here the other day but it must have been in a magazine and now I can't find that so I must have been dreaming  about it.

any help would be appreciated :)

I just saute the leeks and some garlic in some butter....add the peeled/cubed potatoes and enought chicken stock to cover...salt and pepper, boil it/simmer it till potatoes are cooked, mush it up with the blender and add any other seasoning till it tastes good

THANK YOU Annb for that - looks like soups on the menu tomorrow :chef: as we've still got miserable rainy weather here and I just felt like it today but didn't want to ruin it.

wish it was about 3 hours earlier than what it is because I'd do it now and have some - yummy

Yup, what annb said......yummo!does sound yummo doesn't it - I've bought the tin stuff before but nothing beats homemade soup in winter.

love your name - I had it on my mind the other night and couldn't get it out again and I said it out loud when I was on BH the other day when I saw it and DS starts saying it which made it worse

 It's actually the name of a kitten in Buffy. I do love the idea of a little one saying it. Very cute.

yeah well that was cute but not what he said to me earlier today. ;)

He was playing near me whilst I was on the computer and he dropped his toy and bent down to pick it up and said "poohy mum mum your feet smell". I had my nice fluffy sheepskin slippers on at the time so I must have a sniff and see if he was right!!!!

This is the recipe I use - its the best one I have found

Leek and Potato Soup (http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/leek-onion-and-potato-soup,1717,RC.html)

I also add 1/4 small butternut pumpkin - you cant really taste the pumkin but it gives it that extra something IYKWIM

Another thing i do sometimes is add a few chicken breasts and substitute 1/2 the vegetable stock for chicken stock. Then when it is all cooked and blended you cant even tell theres chicken in there - well sort of - it ends up like a kind of cream of potato, leek and chicken ... really Yummo!

LOL....toddlerhood seems a long way away ATM but I'm sure it will be here before I know it!yes they are no sooner that tiny little baby you brought home from the hospital and then they are walking and talking.

when your bubs does start talking non-stop make sure you write it all down. I've got little writing pads that I write all the funny little things he says down so I can then compile them into a little book for him for when he's older plus my mum lives in another state so when I talk to her twice a week I get my little pad out and tell her all the funny things he has said and she loves hearing it all.
