Hi all just curious as a rough guide, i know all babies are different. But roughly how many feeds a day should bubby be having, she is 17 weeks. She has started sleeping 10-12 hours at night so is only having 4 feeds, maybe 5 in 24 hours. Is this normal? BTW she is a very healthy 6.8kg.

At 17 weeks, I would have thought she'd be needing more than that, TBH. More like 6 - 8 at a minimum...

It's fantastic that she's happy and healthy :) But I'd perhaps be offering the breast a bit more often - ie when you get her up from a nap and then when you put her down again...

Lucky you that she's sleeping so long overnight though! :D

Hi. Just wanted to say that both my kids were down to 5 feeds per day at that age and were also sleeping through. Sounds perfectly normal to me...... whatever normal is. If she is not hungry and is putting on weight and is having plenty of wet nappies, then things are fine. You wouldn't want to give her any less than 5 feeds though. I assume she is feeding around about every three hours?

You lucky, lucky, lucky woman. Rejoice. At 19 weeks Esme is still waking 4 hourly round the clock. But that still only means 6 feeds a day. I'd be very happy to lose the 2 am feed!

lol well i was extremely happy with it, then i got to thinking oh hang on is it ok?? babies have a knack of being able to make us stress no matter what.
Her nappies are still very wet, and she is such a happy baby, she almost wants me want more:p
So i think if i can keep her to 3 hourly during the day, then the last feed at night she usually has both sides then when she is ready for sleep about an hour or so later she will have another top up she should be fine. Well its not like she is wasting away, lol she has mummys thighs!!
