I found out the hard way yesterday that my son is rather attached to his toy dog when i washed it and it wasnt dry by nap time...
how do other ppl wash attachment toys and have them dry before sleep time?

My son is really attached to his soft Florrie the Fimble.
When she needs a wash (which is pretty often) I make sure I do it in the morning and then put her in the sun so she is dry by bed time.
Even though I don't like to use the clothes dryer, I have been desperate a couple of times and put her in the dryer for a short time. It guess it is nice and warm and it seemed to help when he had both of his middle ears infected.

I use the dryer, Most stuffed toys can take at least a low heat setting without a problem. Throw it in with towels if you're concerned.
We lucked out I think. When Chloe was 4 to 5 months I noticed that she would be holding onto the corner of her wrap or blanket while she slept. I gave her a small baby wash cloth instead - I have a dozen of them :) She still plays with them and uses them for comfort. She does have a favorite bear that she usually sleeps with, but when it's been drying i've substituted a 2nd favorite without a problem.
My dd has not yet reached the phase of becoming attatched to any of her toys yet so that's lucky for me. I had a friend who had a double of her childs favourite toy, that way when one became dirty and needed to be washed there was a replacement on hand. If your finances allow it maybe you can buy another one the same. Just a suggestion ;)

hmmmm i mite have to look for a replacement....
unfortunatly my son still has two naps, so gettting it dry between naps isnt going to happen, especially in winter... and i dont have a clothes drier!
next quest is to find where this dog is from... it was a gift from his godfather!
My son is addicted to his monkey and we had the same problem, so I bought a second. Now he has at least 1 monkey at all times!

My 2 yr old daughter has a little pink teddy "Pinky" (how original), that she has to have alll the time....sometimes she forgets when we go down town, but otherwise he's stuck to her....i try and chuck him in the wash when she's having brekky and the hopefully she doesn't notice that he's gone until he's dry, which normally coincides with nap time thank god!! I don't know what i'm gonna do when she gets too old to carry a toy around, i figure i'll leave him with her until she gets rid of her dummy at bed time...the teddy is the lesser of two evils i think!
I have had major trouble finding a replacement (he is an bear from avon, and they don't stock them anymore), i have tried to buy similar ones, but she's on to me!!
I think they'll realise when they get too old for their security things...hope so, i can't bear to take him off her yet!!
