TTC and Unwell-with fever

Have recently rejoined the bub hub forum after having DS in June 07. Am now TTC #2. I am on cycle day 14, and have had 3 -ve OPK. I chart on fertility friend and normally ovulate around day 16- with cycles average of 29 days long. I developd a nasty temp yesterday (38.8degress) and bad headache, and am generally feel unwell. Obviously I am trying to monitor BBT for ovulation, but it is very hard when your temp is unnaturally high due to illness. This moring my temp was 37.3-and it is not the post ovualtion rise! So DH and I plan on BD tonight, tomorrow and Sunday anyway just to make sure. My question is this- does having a fever affect your body ovulating, and if you have a fever when you conceive can this damage the embyro? I have had one m/c in May 06 and am keen to avoid it again. I am worried that my body will be confused by the high temps and not ovulate. Has anyone conceived whilst they were unwell or had a fever? Thanks all, looking forward to your replies

Kylie, I can only speak from personal experience. I am usually incredibly fertile (conceived first time round with all) with the exception of No.3, when it took 2 months. The first month I had mastitis around ov time and whether the fever affected the ov process or not, I didn't conceive that month.

I'm not saying that this is the case with everyone, but remember my dr saying to me that if you're body is not on par, then it naturally tells itself to switch off and try and concentrate on getting better.

Thanks for your reply- I thought that might be the case- i am very frustrated, as have been preparing myself for the last 3 months and as my DH is a teacher we would like to be due Nov or Dec so that he is on holidays not long after bubs is born. So i was hoping for quick conception!! Am not sure how keen I am on a Dec baby! But we will still try. I am hoping that I am on the mend and that my body sorts itself out so that i am ok on ovulation-if I ovulate!!

Kylie, if you conceived this month it would be a Nov baby and next month would be Dec. My son came in Dec (9th) and it's a fine date. Also, wasn't too hot at the time so the end of pregnancy wasn't too bad.
