Hi all,

I would really love to hear from anyone who has had a an abdominal separation that was not healed before conceiving again.

I had a 5 finger width separation after DD2 and it is still 2 finger widths 13 months later. We are now trying for #3.

Was it painful in the subsequent pregnancy? I know the separation itself hurt a lot, so I figure it shouldn't hurt so much this time round (fingers crossed!)

Any information would be much appreciated:yes:

Thanks all...........

Hi there  not sure if this helps at all but my friend conceived bub#2 when their first bub was 13 mths old and she had a 4 finger abdominal gap. I asked her once before when she was pregnant if it caused for any concern or if she ever got any discomfort because of it and she said no.

Just curious, how did you find out you had a 5 finger gap? My DS is now 16 mths old but I have no idea if I have a gap or not, and can't seem to tell by feeling my stomach myself. My stomach was massive when I was preggers and I'm a fairly small girl so I'm sure I would have had some kind of gap.

All the best ttc bubby #2!! DH and I will be ttc #2 in a couple months - very excited :smiliedance:

Hi Carla,

I knew I had the separation when the physio felt it straight after I had DD2. You can usually feel it yourself if you lay on the floor on your back, press down with your fingers over your belly button and do a stomach crunch. If there is a gap you should be able to feel it then. If it is large like mine you can see it when you do a sit up, your belly looks really pointy!

Good luck with TTC #2. It would be a great age gap for you. We conceived DD2 when DD1 was 17 months and that gap has been great. Bit nervous about #3 though:o
