Naming Day?

I am a baptised Catholic and my DH is a christian we both feel we do not want to chose our childrens religion. We'd like them to understand we believe in god and that there are many gods out there and let them decide on what route they would like to take.

Naming days are they VERY religious what exactly happens on a naming day.

Any good websites you could suggest thanks!

We had a naming day for the same reasons, we want DS to choose his own path. They are NOT religious. We had a celebrant who did a lovely service for us that in no way resembled anything religious, we did it on DS 1st birthday as a way to celebrate him! I loved it, it was a way of welcoming him into the family and having a wonderful celebration with our family and friends. There is a lot of tradition to naming days, they are not a new fad!
